i can see the mistake, I've heard the phrase "the Nazi race" used a lot. An honest mistake. Emo kids though, i think their DNA differs from ours, they have a "wah" gene that makes them cry all the time.*Barf*

lol, that makes me think of SLC Punk (great movie, you should all see it) "I don't think of the Nazi's as a hateful group, I think of them more as a big gathering of people". But we're getting off topic here.

Actually, it's both. As used as an adjective, or pertaining to something, it's Arian. As a race (it's not, it's an ethnicity) the proper useage is the noun Aryan. The Aryan race is correct.

"The Arian artifacts found were carbon dated around 400 AD."

"During WWII, the Nazi party looked down upon anyone who was Aryan."

Even tho the Aryan ethnicity is now considered to be the blonde, blue-eyed caucasian people, the term originated from the Indo-Iranians, the peoples who populated what was then the Fertile Crescent. In fact, the name Iran is derived from Aryan. Ahh, the irony. ;)

There was a philosopher/writer named Friedrich von Schlegel pioneered comparative Indo-European linguistics. He found similarities between Sanskrit, Persian, Greek, and Latin. These similarities caused him to claim that India was where Western culture was born. With the similarities between the races/languages he coined the term "Aryans" (the noble people) for those who had moved from northern India to Europe. Pretty soon, some genius decided that Indo-Europeans actually originated in northern Europe! Then it didn't take long for everybody to have the idea that Aryans looked like the common northern European (blonde, blue, hint hint). Moving in the 18th century, anti-Semitic German philosophers saw the Jews in Germany as the main non-Aryan race, all because the roots of Judiasim were foreign to north-central Europe. And of course by then everybody knew, thanks to the anti-Semetic scholars, that real Aryans were very similar to blonde-haired, blue-eyed caucasians. Unfortunately, the small but significant misinformations ultimately led up (under questionable government) to what is now known as the Holocoust.
