I was watching G-Phoria on E! the other night and noticed they had like 5 pc's there with halflife 2 running on them..

Two that look awesome are:

 

1) Far Gate - based on Star Gate theme

 

2) Pandora Forces

 

Both have great modeling teams and since FC and the FC moding program are complete both mods will be out before any HL2 mod.
