Ok here goes... bout a week ago, i started getting really weird internet behaviour.... basically i am on cable, never had a problem, Ultin now,, i randomly drop from games, ventrilo, websites randomly 404 on me.. as if someone is turning off my connection... tried usuall progs, with and without Firewall on, no avail, no spyware on system either, messanger turned off...upon doing 5 BB speed tests. i get 3 that were @ 500-800 and 2 at 1.5meg (where it should be)any ideas?
well ... not exactly same here but probs somwhat similar have Cable provider monitoring, reformat/new install/new security/loggers of net incoming, etc / net provider said many complaints from others of similar ... as did security software provider say ... who knows ... being tracked as possible ... oops, not supposed to say ... can say try new spybot which may find stuff it can't remove which other companies are working on ... might try changing network card ($20) which will be assigned new ip ... and help identify what comes in from net since fresh accept/question list created. sorry this vaque but waiting for more clear answers myself. you're not alone ;-)
Sometimes it can even be a your ethernet cable. My one went out on me and my downloads were super slow. Then again, I didn't lose the connection, so it's probably a different problem. :?-edit- Might even be a hardware problem. Might want to see if might be your NIC.

same here Shotty.Just yesterday, it shut off 3 times. Once for well over an hour.In the past week, it has happened ATLEAST 4 times each day.
Error - 404 = your cookies are bad or corrupted : delete it (the suspecious cookies of course) for that the website create a new one!Else run the spybot 1.3 to look what happened to your cookies? Or open it with a text editor to look on it.Egidio.
no BTD, our cable's are just autmatically shutting off now and then.Nothing is wrong with cookies.
Right Ripper but some providers cut some website access and generate the error 404 because there is viruses or doubt contenances... Who knows?Egidio.
also ... slight voltage drop, too small to notice in lights or effect pc, clocks, etc ... i was told cable modem can be more sensitive too ... causing it to recycle as if power had been disconnected for split second ... i had lot of stuff in power bar with modem power plug, power bar power light had been flashing more then usual, possibly indicating too much load on it ... i changed the bar ... so far so good.
