August 24, 200421 yr DirectX 9.0c doesn't install on my computer I downloaded both versions of it (online and redistributable) and i get the same problem. When I try to install, it skips the whole "installation" process and goes right to saying DirectX 9.0c has been installed successfuly. It doesn't install anything though, so I still have DirectX 9.0b I have Windows XP Professional, and haven't gotten the SP2 update yet (i think it was released today)
August 24, 200421 yr Author I've already tried downloading Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 demo and unfortunately for me it requires directx 9.0c so the game crashes every time i try to play
August 24, 200421 yr dx9c is still a beta version i would say just wait until they release it as an update
August 24, 200421 yr i can check into that after i finish my essay. i am about to start a beta section on my downloads for windows progs and tools like dx9c and windows mediap layer 10

August 24, 200421 yr there is, google it, and you find the link to it on the MS site, also, did you dl the offline dev installer for 9.0c, cause that worked fine for me
August 25, 200421 yr Author i tried the offline install and it still had the error, it said everything worked fine, except it skipped the whole installation process -_-
August 25, 200421 yr Author i will try that, and I'm downloading SP2 but its gonna take about an hour cause it was 272mb i thinkit wont let me install directx 9.0b because a newer version is already installedmy current version is: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0903)

August 25, 200421 yr Author ok, new problem :?apparently, i already have a build of service pack 2, so when i downloaded and installed SP2, it "wouldn't install over my current build of Service Pack 2."
