DOOM 3 and Win 98/ME compatability

Featured Replies

Yes you can play DOOM3 with WinME or Win98.

Goto here and download the No CD hack.

http://www.gamecopyworld.com/

Then Download the Win98 patch.

Drop the NO CD .exe in the Doom 3 folder as well as the patch. Overwriting of course.

Then goto the folder and click on the 98 patch to activate it.

RESTART

Have fun.

Here is the ME/98 patch that I used.

Anybodty with ME or 98 or 98SE try Doom out yet?It runs Great on My system.NF2 Mobo with an AMD Mobile XP at 2500mhz 220fsb 512mb or DDR. GF4 TI4200 128mb at 300core and 600mem.I am runnning the game at high quality 1024 x 768. Runs smooth but I know the FPS is hovering around the 30 mark. I cannot complain though. Looks great.

ME is actualy Great compared with the Bulk of an operating System called XP.XP btw has caused MORE problems, needed more updates, and had more issues than 98, 98se, and ME combined.ME runs just as good if not better than XP in most applications.
never personally had a problem with XP, doesnt hog my system resources like ME did, and ME was alwaqys crashing, i guess hto its down to HW and personal experiance...

Not silly when it has more problems than any of its previous 9x releases.Yes it's core is more stable than 9x but when you get down to it. 9x is simpler and has less problems now than XP.What I would suggest is for you to load it up. Update it and see what I mean. For the average Joe. It runs great. When it is time to upgrade I will but it is a rip off to have to pay for an operating system for every computer in your house.I mean that rule is ridiculous.XP is more of a Suite than a OP system. It would be great to have a slimed down version, say maybe one geared for gaming like MS said they would release but never did.As stated above. Whatever floats your boat.ME floats mine Extremely well.

Agreed. They are being more proactive but I wonder why?I can attain XP if I want. We all know you can do this illegally with Keygens etc etc.I have built 10 systems with XP this year alone. It does work well but it is not for me at the moment as Carl knows I have 11 PC's here and swapping out parts would cause havoc on an XP system. Especially a motherboard. It is really a good Suite of Software. It does a little of everything well. I would rather have an A LA CART Operating system. Pic what you want so it does not overwhelm you.

iswitchedabout 40% of my parts with an xp system and never had any major problems, including mobo and processor,a nd either way its leagues ahead of ME, which is the worst windows os i've ever had the misfortune to work with

It is just a Opinion. As I ave stated above. I have built so many ME systems and they are all great. There are 11 in my house that get used just about every week for Gaming, Burning, surfing etc etc. ME is fine in todays build with the Hardware I use.
