April 30, 200322 yr Early this morning (4:00am central) in northeastern Alabama northwestern Georgia and southeastern Tennessee there was a earthquake measuring in at 4.9 on the rictor scale (plz excuse the spelling) It was pretty cool Thank goodness it was not big enough to hurt my computer. The earthquake could be felt in some other states to but we got it the worst. MAN I'm glad I dont live in California. All you Californian's would have laughted at us because we thought it was pretty bad. I sure am glad we dont get alot of them. (I know this dosent make much sense BUT it was the best i could do)
April 30, 200322 yr I've been through a few earthquakes, but never felt anything near the epicenter of any quake. NY state has had some earthquakes in recent years, one in the Adirondack Mountains that was a 4.9, which happened last year. I felt that one all the way on the western side of the state. It's not bad feeling the weak quakes or the outer seismic bands of a quake. I'd just hate to go through a major 5.0 + quake and be close to the epicenter of it. That must be pretty scary.
