October 11, 200421 yr You dont.I have 11 computers. The last Steam update caused 5 out of 11 to have to have Steam reinstalled b/c it would not update. .Blob deletion etc etc would not work.Install DX 9.0C. Update your videocard drivers.Reinstall Steam and see what happens.
October 11, 200421 yr Sorry Punisher....guess u r just the unlucky type. Either that or Valve has programmed a bug just for you!!! ;-)I've had no problems with CS:Source......although I have to admit I find myself STILL playing FireArns instead!

October 12, 200421 yr Pun, you probably want to limit your frames to 100 so it doesnt get sketchy, which seems to happend too often. You also want to check to see what video drivers you have. Also does the crash give you any error message? You can check your steam folder and see the error logs that could help clue you in to what the problem is. You could also reinstall steam or delete your client.blog if it persists to reset the games. Deleting local content for a specific game also helps when it keeps acting up.
October 12, 200421 yr Try setting your refreshrate manually for EVERY resolution possible in your display properties. That way that cannot cause the crash. In game as well. Set all resolutions.
October 12, 200421 yr Author Well I reinstalled steam and redownloaded CS:source and it still crashes.Yesterday I played it for about half an hour then it crashed for no apparent reason.I searched online and found that alot of people are having this problem. They said if you run CS in a window you can see that it gives a memory address error. However The same people have tested their memoery and it came out fine, mine tested good as well...I'm confused on why the game runs great for a while then just crashes, this happens to me with Doom3 as well...I have tried the drivers from Gainward(my card) and Nvidias.I'll try the reoultion thing that Mac said but I get the feeling thats not it...Anyway, FA is more fun so I don't really care, I just hope I don't have the same problem with HL2 singleplayer. On a side note, I have 512mb stick of Corsair DDR400, my brother tells me XP uses over 200MB of that...If I purchased another stick of 512 could this possibly fix the memory errors? Thanks for your input guys,
