October 18, 200421 yr I can see that the internet MIGHT fail around then, BUT...there will be new developements in the IT and Internet areas that will either change the internet or irradicate threats in some way or other.
October 18, 200421 yr what?

?anyway, as Donut said as we go on...internet connections and technologie will get better, and hopefully bills like the one that I think is still trying to be passed in US that restricts spam e-mail will be implemented
October 18, 200421 yr Internet 1.1 wil be released, and with it comes all the expliots and problems than all MS software has when its released...*someone whispers in ear* What? the Internet is not Microsoft? AAARRRRGGGHHHHHH
October 18, 200421 yr i doubt it'll happen... the anti virus software and firewalls are getting better and better everyday
October 18, 200421 yr i doubt it'll happen... the anti virus software and firewalls are getting better and better everyday yeah... so what?
October 18, 200421 yr I doubt the internet would fail just like that, even with all the spam and spyware. And it might be possible if the internet remains the same, but it's changing all the time. New formats for webpages and internet technologies make it difficult for the internet to stagnate enough for it to be completely vulnerable.
October 18, 200421 yr OMG Y2K Y2K ITS GONNA END US ALLLLLLLLL !!!!! OMG Y2K. ......................... comon people -G
October 18, 200421 yr Well.....
Im studying Evolution of Networks. I havent yet gone to the internet part, but from what i heard earlier, it can be modelled b something called percolation. Never mind technical details, the problem it solves is: how many computers or conections between them have to fail for the internet to break apart. And from what i heard, the likeness of tHAT happening is small.
October 18, 200421 yr lol, for every server in the world hosting internet resources to fail simultaneously, no probably not, howver TheInternet RC 2.7 will come out eventually, at which point most people will leave because many users are dominating it with an overpowered FAMAS
October 18, 200421 yr i doubt it'll happen... the anti virus software and firewalls are getting better and better everyday yeah... so what? no viruses... if you get good internet security they usually come with anti-spam cough norton cough it even hides ads that are in the web page itself *takes some robitussin* i also have Ad Aware SE Pro, which comes with ad-watch. a program that runs in the background and blocks spyware as they come i have been COMPLETELY spam/spyware/adware free since i got norton and ad aware shameless advertising...
October 18, 200421 yr i doubt it'll happen... the anti virus software and firewalls are getting better and better everyday and so are viruses, spyware, ad-ware, etc.
October 18, 200421 yr lol, for every server in the world hosting internet resources to fail simultaneously, no probably not Ummmm, no. ONlY a calculated number of connections have to fall for all the internet to split.
October 18, 200421 yr yes, only, the chances of which failing simultaneously are still extremely low, and thats assuming that in the next few years the internet does not have more backbone servers added to it, either way, fat chance
October 19, 200421 yr Can somebody explain something to me?My Norton AntiVirus finds a threat, it asks me to delete it, so I do, then it goes and asks me if I want to exclude it from the next scan. I don't think its deleting the threats from my computer. Is this normal?
October 19, 200421 yr But still, looking at that connection, why not just blow up one of the five data centers in TX or around the world, The number is still a HUGE one tho you ahve to admit Ky, and its unlikely unless someone used a calculated attack upon key instalations that the internet will fail totally.
October 19, 200421 yr And youre saying thats impossible? There are enough determined (from various reasons) individuals, that it can be done.
October 19, 200421 yr Do you realize what would happen to the modern world and the economy if the internet just failed? It wouldn't be a good thing to live through.
