FAMAS is IMO FAMouS because:1. When you are a new player, you see lots and lots of kills by FAMAS. Usually those who are ranked higher use it (with the except of 'snipers'' and 'spammers'' maps) so you start thinking: why can't I? When you are more advanced, new players see you with FAMAS and start use it as well. So you contaminate next person with your own disease... 2. When new player is using it, it's easy to kill 1 enemy (esp. wounded). Filling someone's stomach with 25 fast bullets isn't that difficult and usually it's enough. And when you kill 1 man and you die 1 time and you are new you feel GREAT.3. When you are angry (you can't kill enough opponents ), you switch to famas and full armour, as the ultimate solution of all of your problems. (side note: I think medium armour, claymore, bandages and famas is much better choice). I don't who and when started it. But right now it's an avalanche.BTW: back in the days of 2.8 (early 2.9?) shotguns were powerful (again: dunno why and if really they were)... Everyone (ok, almost everyone) switched to remmy or saiga. Later they were 'patched' and see who uses remmy now (except Shotty, of course ). Give people the next 'ultimate' weapon and they will use it immediately. IMO, m4 was, in the minds of creators, the ultimate answer to FAMAS. Not only american (!!!), but fast and with interesting 'special ability'. But it didn't become as famous as FAMAS and it's treated (now) as the 'little bro' of FAMAS.BTW (2): I wonder if Steyr AUG would return, would everyone use it? I heard that people were... whinning when someone used it all the time...

Actually, I do that with the AK74 and M4 quite a bit, not 4 guys all the time but 2-3.

Well i dont personally have a problem wiht the famas, I have a problem with , if youll excuse the term, Noobs who get a few kills with it, and think they own with every gun...i use punisher as an example here, he is good with just about any gun, he choose to use the famas and owns just as much as he would with the AK74 or the mp5, now you get someone liek AndrosS he was ONLY good with the famas, i dont think i ever saw him make another kill with any other gun,THAT annoys me.

actaully, go knifing with any some time. he is really good. in fact the last 3 times i have played with him he didnt have a famas!-G

i jus dont know why everyone keeps doggin on the m82, every version of fa that gun has gotten worse with the bipod stopping, to fireing the wavering of the scope and the flipping nonstop annoyinng of actually hitting sumething but not registering, and still people diss on it . but then again on the other hand the famas has never changed from ever since ive played fa and when that gun outsnipes an m82 across the whole map of durandal theres gotta be something that isnt rite there imo i think thats total bull crap . but you know then again no one sticks up for the m82 anymore

I understand what G and AZN are saying but the m82 is supposed to be a defensive weapon not a weapon that fulfils all the roles.

And one more thing: sometimes u need to spray around (like killing 4 people camping in the alley). And famas is the best in it.

 

OK, if not AUG, give m16 a scope and then we will see what would be the weapon of choice of everyone :evil:

 

BTW: guys- m4 is great when you have 3-4 skill points (as you said above), not anyone can get enough kills to have 3-4 skill points... That's why people choose famas. And if they can get 3-4 skill points, they rather spend it elsewhere (medic skills, battlefield agility).

 

IMO, the most difficult thing to do is to balance the game (weapons- in FA, monsters, castles- in HoMM series). FA weapons are (IMO) well balanced.

 

I don't like when I am outsniped everytime by famas user but I think an occasional kill (death) from single fire is funny

Here is my opinon on the m82 as a sniper.

It is OK to use the M82 in the proper situation. Lets say my team has low reinforcements, brake out the m82 to get a gain on the other team. Or if it is a long distance map you need a long range rifle. That is understandable. But what Azn dose is not. To use a M82 when your team has 170 reinforcements at the beging of a game is flat out wrong. To start camping when a match starts just makes the game suck. Just because you are a sniper dose NOT mean you have to sit in a one sneaky spot with one gun the ENTIRE game. In fact a good sniper never stays in one spot for a long period of time. You get in a spot, either kill one or two (or get shot at) then move to another spot and repeat the process. Also you do not have to use a SNIPER RIFLE to be a sniper. You can use a SMG, AR, pistol, or MG to snipe. Every one knows they get picked off by a famas, that is sniping. I dont know if LFM is still a profound MG'er but when I played with him he would snipe people with an m60 like I was useing an SSG. But useing the M82 to just obtain more kills "I just took out half your team" as Azn wwould say is wrong. plain and simple.

Its up to the player to do what he wishes with whatever weapon. Hell, if Azn kills half your team, then he deserves those kills. And if he stays in the same spot, so what? You will know where he is and be able to counter attack. I find nothing wrong with the way Azn plays, except for some of those shotgun kills. :roll: But unscoped accuracy is being nerfed big time in 3.0 so shouldn't be a factor anymore.

G you have obviously never knifed against lister... talk about INSANE... i am talking 5 Famas armed guys and lister with a knife full metal and NO stealth, he walks away alive awsome...in all my days, unless i could get Long range against lister, i never won a duel with or without guns against him. (most times it was me with a shotty or uzi and him with knife)

People blame the FaMAS for THEIR OWN INADEQUECIES...Same withe the m82 or SVD.... hell i get moaned at on Marie for sniping one of the THREE gaps that the red team come out of,, not all, only one, i get MANY MANY kills because people i killed JUST KEEP COMING out of that gap, getting their heads blown off and whining, then coming that way again....... they could go the other way, thru the outpost to the bridge, or thru the cave, but again and again i see people trying to snipe me, trying to run thru... azn i am sure knows what i am talking about here!pretty much whatever map you are, one point you snipe from has 3 or 4 different access points that cant all be covered by the sniper... especially whilst he has the bipod down.If you try to tank the famas full on with anything other than the Remmy or another famas (and having a lot of luck with the remmy) you WILL die... there are 2 tuns that compare ROF wise and make up for damage with ROF alone and thats the MP5 and the Uzi.

Unh Uh Shotty.You can take the Famas on.There are guns that you can use and techniques that will make them expend their ammo and then you finish them. There used to be more guns but they got nerfed. Geeee I wonder why. Uzi was one of them. To me they were equal (Famas/Uzi) at close range but of course the Uzi in 2.8 sucked for mid/long range.

Just an opinion on the Famas' recoil.When I was playing last night, I was intentinally looking at the recoil on the Famas, and it is actually pretty high... however, because it shoots so fast, it's almost as if the next round has fired before the previous round's recoil has actually fully taken effect.So at close range, it's actually pretty easy to keep your crosshair on the target long enough for the kill before the high recoil actually has any detrimental effect.At medium range, you can burst 3-4 shots dead on the target without worrying about recoil too much either. The bullet deviation that matters (shots 1-4) just isn't there on the Famas in comparrison to other "tear em up" weapons like the AK-74 (my personal FA weapon of choice)

jus like ss6 said its my decision to do whatever i want in any situation, its my game i purchased its my computer i bought and my internet i pay for so why do i have to wait till reinforcements are low to get a sniper rifle lmao, oh yeah and btw every sniper camps , they do not run around like they have an assault rifle and hunt you down , unless you pull the crap i do but the point is that every person that gets a sniper rifle whether it would be a ssg drag or m82 , you will camp to snipe somebody either way . and to see yer name being sharpshooter matt , you should completely understand that 100 percent and also the bipod for the m82 completely is useless , sure it will give you less recoil but there is a bug that makes it look like yer still fireing 24/7 after yer first shot and also for all you people dissing on the prone situation , try and snipe the m82 standing up - it will not register worth crap yeah u mite get a few lucky shots in but most of the time it will not register .

Hey I'm not telling you what do here. That is all my opinon. I do agree with the bipod, its useless. I do not mean hun people down with a sniper. All I do is change locations every so often. Keep the other snipers and playes on thie feet. I know you have to camp but the idea of camping at the start of a game seems absurd to me.

Depends on the map really sharp... if its durandal and i'm on red i'll probably stick to the red balcony and take them out as they come out from under blue balcony if i'm sniping, but if its like.. ps_crash .. ill be all over the place, since there's tons of places to hide, and more chance not to be seen in the dark.
