November 22, 200421 yr Say we all want to play on lan (6 or so of us) but only have 2-3 steam accounts.. is there a way around this?
November 22, 200421 yr No way, else the existant and real accounts will be erased too! Warning! They do to play with their own real accounts or try to get from a friend who don't play this day but don't forget: all accounts must be erased on all computers after the LAN party else some can stolen it for himself...Egidio.
November 22, 200421 yr Say we all want to play on lan (6 or so of us) but only have 2-3 steam accounts.. is there a way around this? Yes, it can be done. You have to trick Steam into thinking you're going to play in Offline mode. (By auto-logging in with the account you want to use and then disconnecting the computer from the internet) It's not very complicated, and it can be done. Basically, you have to make it so they can log on in offline mode, before you dissconnect yourself from the net.
November 22, 200421 yr Author So log in on computer 1, 2, and 3, with the accounts I already have.. then disconnect 2 and 3, from the network while they're logged in... log in on 4 and 5 with accounts from 2 and 3.. etc?
November 22, 200421 yr make sure to log off and not exit. that way you can go in offline mode. try disconnecting the internet connection, log in offline mode, then plug back in. unless theres a way to auto go to offline mode-G
November 22, 200421 yr ive done it with cs sourcei just log on one person get them in a serverlog on another without anyone logging out and get them in the same oneand keep going this was with the beta but it still might work
November 23, 200421 yr weOk. What you basically have to do is. Once the steam account is used, no one can join the server with the same account. Unless, it can't communicate with the steam network. So, dissconnect all the computers from the net, once you're at the main counterstrike menu. That's how ya do it.
