Is counterstrike source its own game or a mod or what, Iwas reading the storyline sounded pretty cool i was thinking of trying it. I also heard when you buy HL2 you get a copy of CS:S is it new cs:s or the one you all have been playing?BTW I hate valve games but I 'm willing to give it a shot,I tried FA and hated it . :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

it is pretty much the old CS on the new HL2 engine which is very cool!I used to like CS and stopped playing then after trying the new version I have come back to it. Some people like Gator who never liked it before have found it pretty fun. I debated on getting it for a while but I thought that with all the mods coming out for HL2 it would be worth it. After all I have well gotten my moneys worth of HL1. I would say it is a good long term investment in gaming even if you do not like CS:S. I would also buy it from STEAM if I were you as you can now back it up on the CD plus you then do not have to put the CD in everytime. Make sure if you have ever used a key found on the internet you do not buy it on that steam account (make a new one). If you ever liked playing DOD get the silver package.

i played CS:S in my freinds house and i think its same like cs 1.6

Then patap you didnt play CSS round your friends house, you played CS1.6BEcause you sucked at it, and didnt like it?Physics are realistic, GFX are awsome, blood is more than realistic, guns are life like too, gameplay is fun, and entertaining.Get teh silver package, its $10 more but you get $50 worth of content at least.

no dod:s is exactly the same of dod 1. At this time i'm playing DoD more then other games, i love that mod, and i'm sure at 200% that DoD:S is exactly the same exept the engine. The new thing is that DoD is a product of Steam now and not of Valve

people you dont understand, valve is making CS2 (definitly) and im pretty sure DOD2CSS and DODS are just ports to Source, there isnt meant to be different gameplay. same with HL:S, except they put alot less effort into it

My impression of cs:source - an already bad game wrapped in a different package. They couldn't even add new weapons. The maps are nicer, the models are slick but that's about where it ends for me. The gameplay is faster but more predictable. There's only so many routes you can take before u go back. They decreased some weapon's accuracy while increasing others. Don't know y they did it, but they decreased the scope fade-in to almost bullet time.I still play it, but that's only because hl2dm is even worse.

This threaad went all to hell.So the HL2 version of CS:S was ported to the HL2 engineand eventually there will be a new version of CS:S on the HL2engine right? :mrgreen:

Hey if u hate CS:S ur bound to love FA. Play more FA!!!i didn't like CS:S much when i started playing it but i gave it a couple more chances and i'm starting to like it. When i have the time, i play a game of FA then i play a game of CS:S. Sniping on CSS is the funnest. Close quarter sniping in a high intensity environment = exciting

I don't like FA anymore than hl2 or hl2dm. but if i had to choose, i'd take FA.

GH. Anything with source is the new HL2 engine. Counterstrike Source was completely re-done using this engine, (ill get some screenshots of the 2 in here soon)CS:S is the OFFICIAL VALVE game release, it is the retail game that you will pourchase from the shops, or through steam,it is not a mod nor is it an addon, it is a seperate game using the same technology as HL2, that clear that up a little?

I like CCS, but prefer FA. When insurgency mod comes out imma try that and prob jungle mist .... if that ever comes out.

Thing that drives peaple crazy about CS:S, is the seemingly random crazyness that occasionally occurs. Half the battles occur around who gets the first head shot and nothing else. So occasionally you'll see something crazy like some guy trying to place careful shots with an AK-47 at a guy who just jumped across his view spraying with an MP5... and the MP5 kills the AK'r with a lucky headshot. Makes peaple crazy when lucky stuff like that happens. I once got called a hacker for taking down 4 peaple in a single clip with a P90.... all I did was strafe across the hall and spray into a group of CT's. Shoot, 50 round magazine, and about 6 CT's, I was bound to hit SOMETHING I figured. Didn't know I was going to Headshot 2 and kill 2 more in that strafe :PAt anyrate, the game looks sweet. And what makes it fun is the peaple I play with. I get bored fast and stop playing when our regulars leave the server.
