Ugh.. read the title and the post people..... :roll: Was posting for those WHO MIGHT BE DOING SOMETHING SOON SYSTEM WISE. These types of upgrades will not be for your average joe... I've built one 939 system for someone, and the CPU was about 75% of the over all cost (it was an FX5300). I've been hearing that 939 pricing was about to start coming down drastically. Wasn't looking for opinions and what not, cause I really don't care, just sharing something I found today while browsing one of my regular sites, and knowing the HL2 following we have here... Guess I'll just keep stuff to my self from now on. :roll:

he was just joking around at the add. not you. dont take it to heart its the internet.

plus, there's no 64 bit version of Hl2, so you'll barely get anymore performance over the 32 bit cpus

Yea, the 64 bit cpu's run 32 bit apps quite fast... TFD

Yeah, they do bench higher than Intels, but I don't totally understand why, they aren't even running in 64-bit when you are using, well, anything.The reason the are faster is they have that on-chip FSB; and that runs pretty high.

I've gotten quite a load of money due to working long weeks the past few weeks (avg of 60 hours a week)

 

if you're smart, you wait until after xmas for sales due to retailers overstocking on everything

 

and I picked up a radeon 256mb 9800 xt for 75 bucks(I love being me), sealed and you know what, it came with the voucher for hl2, so I spent another 10 bucks and got the silver package (again, being me rules)
