A stance not often seen

I am sure all of you know WOW and that it is a paid closed internet only game... Looks like some of these guys got well and truely owned. Thsi si why i admire blizzard as both a server host and gaming company, they listen to people in the community and take action against people who are offensive or disruptive to others gameplay...

In the Blizzard TOU it states that blizzard will not refund monies paid to people who get banned... so they lost a minimum of £10, plus the cost of the game as well,

Seems that this sad gaming society we live in today, when there is a need to hack a game that allows no advantage vs another player, of course this is the minority.

and i guess all good things come to those who wait as well =P

Accounts Banned for Speed Hacking - GM Team, 06/12/2004

We wanted to take this time to make an announcement about a serious hacking violation in World of Warcraft, one for which we have zero tolerance. Certain individuals have been identified as using speed hacks to accelerate their characters. This goes against the theme of fair play that we have instituted for the game, and is in clear violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use.

Those individuals who were caught using the speed hack have been banned from the game and have had their accounts closed. We must stress once again that we are opposed to hacking and cheating of any kind and are dedicated to maintaining a fair environment in our games. This will serve as a final warning to others who are considering using the speed hack. If you are caught using it, you will be banned without question from World of Warcraft and your account will be revoked.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you suspect someone of using the speed hack, or wish to report other instances of cheating, please email us at hacks@blizzard.com. Thank you again for your continued support.

awesomeother game companys should take up this stanceI know Epic did the same for UT2k4. They banned you from the master server so you couldn't play online.

Well this is TOTALLY ONLINE so the only way you can get back online is to get another CD key, its a great stance, they banned over 100000 accounts in about 3 days on Diablo2 LOD once, it totally obliterated half of the problems back in "the day"thing that really bites me is, this game has been out less that 3 weeks and is already hacked =(
shottty we should just make you the master admin of all game servers... all the ***holes would be gone in a blink of an eye
