I was hoping someone could help me with a choke issue on TAC ccs. I usually have more choke then ping and was wondering if anyone could help me with rates to solve this problem.I have a gforce 5500 128mb and an ok connection. my rates are cl_cmdrate 80 cl_updaterate 40 rate 9999 cl_rate 18000.I have tried many many many different cmd's updates etc to no avail.Thanks.

Your cl_rate is too high if I am not mistaken.rate 20000 is good. Leave the others at default.

It could if your internet cant handle that speed. As mac said play around with your rate.I have to adjust mine from time to time but it will usually stay clear for me between 12500 - 20000.Post your internet speed and that will give us an idea of about what rate you should use.The best speed test are at broadbandreports.com which will show your upload and download.

yes to both questions.HL2 has a problem with their explosions and fps.Try dropping down a resolution. 1024x768 to 800x600.

Thats good.You should get 0 choke at all times.Try adjusting JUST your rate to solve this.Mac

i get 0 choke at 9999 rate, when i started playing with it it went up loads

Because some of us have 700$ video cards and 300$ CRT monitors and like to show off the pretty colors.

I have a 19 inch flatscreen MAG which costed(hehe funny word) $99It is crystal clear and looks awesome when you crank up the res.I don't get how you guys game with LCDs...
