FA Tweaking

Featured Replies

Ten months ago, my Firearms ran smoothly: 85fps (my monitor's max) constant, never any lag, ping of <50 on every server, US and UK alike, all on swbell DSL. Then I moved from Texas to Indiana, and just recently got Comcast Cable. Now, I get barely 40fps and it drops drastically in firefights. The first time I shoot any gun during a session, the game freezes for a half-a-second. I get spikes all the time, my game stutters frequently, and my ping is well over 75 at all times. As far as I can remember, the ISP and XP-SP2 are the only differences from then until now. Why is my game running so slow? I used to get a good 3:2 K:D ratio, but now I'm lucky to get 1:1. What gives?

It's because you have so Emulator software, Geeze! 64, NES, SNES, Sega? When will it end Klif? When?

the first shot thing happens to me and i deem it at normal so as soon as i spawn i shoot a lil. :/ whatever works.

and i see xfire but no ventrillo? you should get it

He does have Ventrilo. (Ventrilo Application Version 2, 2, 0, 0) Art thou blindeth, G? Or maybe he just got it. 8)

Maybe it's software related. New software or something running in the background interfering, or the fact that your huge HDD is nearly full. Cleaning it our or defragging might help a bit. But I'm sure you've already tried those avenues.

Good luck.

thats what i was thinking ripper. . .

make sure the fa2.9 log files or w/e are read only in your c:/ drive, if they aren't then that would explain the lag in firefights

i have defragged, and the thought kind of crossed my mind that it's because my HDDs are full. -would- that have an effect?
erm did u delete the text in the text files in C:/ drive?

i've tried that, and it helped a little. but it's no miracle-fix i was hoping for!
