I am a frequent player on the <TAC> Firearms server. While playing today, I was having a conversation with some players...

 

I said the word "Constitution"...

 

The filter printed "Cons***ution"

 

So I typed "Consti tution"...

 

The admins THREATENED TO BAN ME!!!

 

They claimed that I was bypassing the swear filter!!!

 

So I said, I'll call the "Document" the Bill of rights..."

 

So it prints... "...Do***ent."!!!

 

Again, they claim I'm Cussing!!!

 

So I thought, let me say a bunch of bad words...

 

Farther, assets, uranus, circumstance, document, Titanic, shuttlecock, title, Nader, constitution, Titusville...

 

If these are classified as bad words, and you are serious, then I will not only come back to the server, but I will enter you for the Censorship Awards, 2005 (yes, it's a real award.)

u were warned not to bypass the filter once. the second time i warned u i told u that u would be banned if u kept it up. there were 3 other tac members on there. if u don't like to follow the rules then shotty will show u the door.

so what do I do when I want to use a "bad" word?

you should not say bad words on tac server,btw you cant say Japan in tac server but i dont know why cant say a cuntry name ?

We don't care if you use the word documents or constitution or whatever. It's when people start bypassing it that we have a problem (BTW, what's your ingame name?). On another note, the way the cuss filter is set up is it will filter the word even if it's part of another word. There is an advantage to this believe it or not. If jo wanted to use the word tit he could just type blatitbla. If we set the filter to not filter the words inside the words then you will have people making strings of cuss words because then they wouldn't be filtered. So this filter works how it's meant to. We can't please everyone, but we try to make the server a no smacktard zone.

At the first sign that you saw the word get filtered you should have stopped right there. I don't see why players have to keep going at it, to see what all real words that may have filtered words in them. Whats the point?

 

And whats the point to have the need to curse in a server? It takes time and energy to type out the word in the chat. By the time you have that done you could have said it in real life TO YOURSELF 5 times over.

 

We don't want to see curse words flying all over the chat, that's why there are simple, easy to follow rules. If you are unable to follow these simple, easy to follow rules.... like others have said.... Shotty will show you the door.

Give us the user name you were under and time and the logs will be pulled. If you are found to be by passing the filter I will take care of the problem. If not it will be corrected. If you bypassed to say something you know is a bad word then that will get you banned, but the things you listed alone are not. We can tell exactly what you typed in the logs so I wouldnt lie if you enjoy the continued play. So with that said contact me via pm with the time and date. I will then check the other dates for violations if any.
