Need a way to deal with hackers through this site

There are many lame people coming on our server lately, and during the afternoon, admins are hard to get ahold of sometimes,

We need a "Hacker/Lamer" reporting accout we can leave PMs with, which should be intermittently checked by admins. We leave a steamID and description of the problem, and they can look into it when around.

Eg: Today we had an oh so obvious hacker shooting through objects and using an aimbot (strafing and killing people with AWP on the move while having crosshairs off by several inches 3-4 times in a row in reload succession)

2300 "(-o-) ChArMaNdEr" STEAM_0:0:3725624 42:14 164 0 active

Then as soon as one of the non-Tac members accuses him of cheating, he starts the typical attemp to hide his obvious hacking.... it is so frustrating trying to accumulate evidence of his hacking when you are more interested in playing.

I'd rather just grab his ID, and send a brief PM to some anti-hacker account for admins. "Possible Aimbot/Wallhack" player, please check in out when you get a chance.

go somewhere safe to hide ... call console while in play ... (tilde key) ... type "spectate mode" and enter ... get rid of console ... right click til you have that player view ... bring down console again, type "record playername.dem", where playername is the player name, or use any filename you want... close console ... console again with command stop to stop recording... anytime in or out of a server, call console and type pregamemenu playdemo playername.dem to watch video. spectate mode will default to behind person view, no good to see his crosshairs, which you must switch to 1st person view for and don't click options/ok after selecting 1st person or it sometimes crashes game. also need console command condump to record steam ids and screen chat. then send those 2 files as pm or email to admin. gotta have proof to expect anything done. don't say in game you think anyone cheating... just use above spectate mode to see better and decide fro mthere what to do.

lol,i have no idea how long it took you to type all this but can you amagine how long it take to do for real.i think the post is looking for a easyier way to handle cheaters.of course i doubt there is one.i can see how frusterating it can be when all you really want to do is play your fav. game but instead you feel like you need to baby sit.
Thats why i stopped playing old CS, EVERYONE hacked. A couple times I would try and make a comeback and get back into the game, but usually the first server I joined would have at least one or two speedhackers, etc. Looks like the filth is already moving over to CSS, sigh

I hope they will come out with VAC as soon as possible. I know it will not end it all but cut back some. That is the problem with most HL/HL2 games and mods. I try to take those out that I can prove are cheating. If you will PM me I will always try to get on to catch them but I am not always home.

I will put him on my bolo list.

the cheating problem has gotten out of hand, valve needs to hire the RIAA as its legal goonsquad. Then, every time someone hacks, the RIAA can sue the crap out of em' and take the their first born child. After that, said hackers house should be burned down and salt poured on the site so that nothing grows there ever again.

I think people have sort of misunderstood the intent of my request.

I am not an admin, so when I am more intereted in playing, I am not interested in babysitting someone who is hacking on and off to be a gimp for 30 minutes only to be able to do nothing about it anyways.

eg: Charmander was turning his aimbot/wallahack on and off making incredibly outrageous shots one round, and then getting knifed in the back or glocked pwned the next round to use as "proof" he wasn't hacking.

I simply want a place to send a PM to so admins or SC can look into it while I am busy playing. This is more efficient then sending a PM to every SC and Admin

You want a real-time solution to the problem, however, this isn't really feasable. I highly doubt that admins do, or want to sit around day in and out waiting for pm's telling them about hackers. They have lives and jobs too. The current system that is in place, best I can tell, is pretty good. Having not played any of the CSS/HL/HL2 stuff, I can only imagine. This is why I think EA at least helped by implementing Punkbuster, while it's not a 100% solution, it certainly helps to curb the hacking. I feel for your problems, but I don't think, the way things sound, that there is currently, a better solution, than what is already in place. My 2 cents...

well, just email it to info@thearmory.cc ...

using this email adress will make sure ALL admins get ur email, and at least one will take care of it...

curious u didn´t know lol

Suspicion should be more than enough. I played on a server where it was totally obvious that these two guys were cheating. There are a million people playing CS:S just ban them and ask questions later.

Haha Kingpin, that e-mail is for legitimate clan purposes, would it be any fun to have to sort through hack suspicion/problem player mails in it? Especially if it gets used and you are getting a dozen complaints per hour?

For everyone's sanity, a dedicated problem player message bin is a more ideal solution, so it can be dealt with as time and desire to do this kind of work permits. Additionally, this would also be a great place for non TAC members to drop off text images of smacktards when there are no TAC members on the server. (it happens on late weekends).

Even now it seems non Admin TAC member are getting overwhelmed at warning people to watch language, stop typing around the filter etc... because that is all they would end up doing for their gaming session.

Warn them, screen shot repeated offences, send PM... person gets banned when time permits.

Process... it's all about implementing process for repetitive tasks. :D
