ok i just installed FA on my friends comp and its givin me this error called animglow01.spr is not set right or something....it says its at -1 but its supposed to be 30. :| i dont know how to change it to 30 i need help

more bad news....it says my friends comp's local steam game files have a problem and it says it will re-acquire them from steam servers and when i say OK it just waits about 2 seconds and then brings up the same window again.... :| this is wierd.

 

EDIT: ok now i get a debug assertion failure.... wth? :|

hmmm... have you tried reinstalling everything? that always helps.

 

i know it takes time, but unless anyone can figure out what the problem is then it looks like its your only choice my friend :peace:

ummmm....i think im in deep shizznai with my friends dad....it wont let me uninstall steam. it says access denied! D:! T_T! :lies: :peace:

have you checked for malware or virus's hehe sry had to laugh

Sorry. Don't feel too bad. There were a couple of times where I couldn't get steam to work for about 4 months at a time. I had to format my hard drive the first time to get it to work. The second time I eventually got lucky after reinstalling and redownloading steam about 20-30 times and it just magically started working. I savagely hate steam :-/ gg

I appreciate it. anyway....i jusrt had to nuke his steam folder and the wierd thing was, it didnt appear on his add/remove programs list :| but eventuallly after some time i found out that his moms setting had steam activated. unfortunatly i had to reset his comp the hard way. D: but in the end i dont think hes gonna be able to have FA on his comp. for some reason FA screwed him over. whod a guessed? :peace: anyway....maybe hes not destined for FA. ;/

steams weird like that some people have problems with it some don't.i had to do a lot of uninstalling and then reinstalling when i first switched to steam.until i learned there is a method to this madness.just a lot of trial and even more errors.i've helped a good many people get f-a and none of them were able to just download and play.so i feel your pain.

thanks k_town, i got it working now :peace: ! my friends name in game is Forgoten Outcast( or brando78797 depending on if his bro is playing). All i have to do now i just download CD and hes ready to go! thanks for the help guys (although i did do most of it by uninstalling and trial and error)
