I made a trebuchet on Garry's mod.......heres some screenshots. Its not real pretty but it can shoot a mean cinder block. Be sure to watch the video (its 1 launch, about 45 seconds)

I donno, a few hours. At first I made it into a catapult, but then I had to take that apart and relocate it to the island for the trebuchet.....so that took a bit of time.

I made a trebuchet for a science fair experiment on momentum and such

that's hott, man. too much time on your hands, but I'm not one to talk, as I tried a similar project once.

it's not as easy as it looks is all I have to saymaking a simple 2 character scene could take a good hour

i once made a CT kicking a field goal b/c they look like football players

It got a lot easier once I figured out how to rotate things

 

It was my first project in a while.
