OK, so I have been working on a new, army themed case mod as of late. Its based off a super sweet existing mode done by zapwizard.com's master modder. I will be adding onto his idea with a number of new things, as well as redesigned front panel. I will reveal the mod as I complete it, so here tonight I unveil the custom headset for the LandWarrior Mod as I think I will call it. It is an old Army CVC helmet that I rewired for PC sound, sadly I had to replace the original heavy duty connector and exterior wires because I couldnt find a store that sold the mil spec u229/U connectors and quick disconnnect. At this moment the headphones work, and deliver great sound and noise canceling, tonight I will try to wire up the mic and hope that it works, otherwise I will have to replace it.

Anyhoo, we completed rigging up the mic last night, I was flabbergasted that the 20 year old thing worked, but it worked really well. I hooked it up using the exact same jacks as the headphones, so the picture isnt really worth posting, the only thing that changed is the addition of an extra wire on the outside with another connector

youd be amazed at the duribility of those things. we tried to do almost the same thing here last year. cept it was an old air force helmet
