May 4, 200520 yr the only way u can get there is by capping on the maps :-( no matter how many kills you have ur always gonna barely move up. take it from me, that was my goal one time........
May 4, 200520 yr I made a goal to be in first without capping. You can't help but cap some points and I don't mean end caps but just push points( these count for cap points too in the stats). I made top ten but that was about it. You gotta cap, cap and cap some more to be near the top unless of course you are superman and can have a 2.5 or 3.0 K/D all the time like some.
May 5, 200520 yr I was ranked 7th (once) though didn't (and don't) cap much. I don't count capping the church on upham while playing blue or capping the central bunker on sandblast as 'real' capping, though. The only map I like capping is bocage.
May 5, 200520 yr 2nd my highest but i did it with out excessive capping,camping or spam.just sterling and ssg.sadly i hardly ever get the time to play as of late. and my mouse is messed up but beware(i know arnie says it best but....) I'LL BE BACK :peace:

That's one way to look at it I go for the kills, to get a good K/D if I get any cap points along the way, it's like getting extra icing on the cake BTW: It's good to set goals, it's what makes things more fun and interesting in this crazy game of FA.

May 5, 200520 yr but what do you do if everything you set is done and there is nothing more to do? complain? -G Actually, I consider the real "Top Guns" the one's with highest k/ds that aren't suspiciously high or hard to kill. Click on "k/d" on stats page for different view of things. To get skill points near top, you must play almost each day for few hrs, getting a few objective points each map. Then it can get boring, so ... take a break, let someone else grab the "spotlight" for while. Set new goal, try other weapons, return to take it all back.

Some players (hint: an artist formerly known as Klink) go straight to the red point (south part of the city?) and insta-cap while his teammates are capping the church... It's easier when map just started and (as I wrote above) reds can't decide which is their weapon of choice... The same goes for sandblast, but the chances of capping are equal for both sides...

That's what Klink does everytime, tell the rest of blue get church while he goes for the cap and gets all the credit maybe reverse the role, Klink should get the church and the rest of blue run for the cap. Now that would be funny on red . . . seeing the entire blue team charging for the cap.
May 5, 200520 yr You don't get cap points in that particular game but they add to your overall stats as a cap. More points for you. As for capping at the start of the map, why not? A quick ten points and new skill is good for me. Anyone can do it so all can rush cap and that would be cool too no? Which brings me to one thing I don't like about FA. You can't play the game right out of the box and be great at it. You need to make custom configs for instant choice of weapon config at start of map, you need to tweak your game command lines, you need custom crosshairs ( I know G you use default or so you say) and you need a decent connection just like all online games just to compete on a level with some. Makes capping those points harder for some. For instance when Doc is playing he always is first in game and gets all the caps because his ping is better than mine. Our systems are comparable but ping wins out. So, don't beat yourself up if you don't make first page of stats because it's not all your doing anyway.

I don't like it in just one case: when reds are capping on force. I hate playing red on this map. It's much to easy (even) to me... I switch to red when the teams are uneven like 12 vs. 9. i use default I use Delta's, which are ok, but not great (the best one is for m79...) but there is one issue: I don't have crosshairs for m14 and m4. I dunno why and always forgot to add (???) it. ... and have a crap connection Haha, talking about connection: I am an Euro. Got ping like 180 and I'm usually killed by the players I didn't see... I noticed one more thing: while sniping the moving targets my headshots (ok, 'headshots') don't register, but sometimes while I missed someone's head by the inches I got hs. I dunno if it's high ping (the target moved), marksmanship or good aimbot... BTW: Wolfey, I just reached my new highs in K/D department: I got 1.81 and I'm ranked 81. Because I started to use mp5 I'm much more cautious while rushing. That's why I got such a high score. You won't have a chance (at least for now) against the guys who were spending their last 3 years constantly playing FA. [edit] BTW (2): Stats are not accurate. I've been playing under new alias last 5-7 days (means at least 10 hours), I did use a lot of g3a3, I played vietnam map with the score like 35/11 and it didn't count? [/Edith] And if you want to play very, very cautious game (to learn how to 'slowly rush') I recommend to play some rounds of America's Army. BH
May 7, 200520 yr I think I was first once, but that might have been a delusion. I at least know that I was in the top 5 before anyway. The entertainment value wears of quickly though.
