Solidarity

Featured Replies

Usually, in games like Counter-Strike, every player is out to get an advantage over the others. Even so, I have just witnessed a show of solidarity among many of the regular players of the TAC CS:Source server to get a hacker to buzz off. Everyone went spec and later left to deny the said hacker any satisfaction.

Kudos to all of you. (you know who you are  )

and annoying everbody because they find humor in stupid things like that

You know, most hackers play just to empty out servers. :D

i don't know why hackers do what they do,but....i love your new sig :)

yes, that's why i usually try to ignore minor things a few times. to deny them satisfaction. if it goes on too much, best to try and get proof, say nothing more, leave and privately send proof to admins. :) :) :D

:D Thanks.

Everyone should see Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. Great movie.

hackers are teh suck, and thats about all i can say about them. I wish it was like AA where you could actually bring charges against hackers for screwing with the game to give themselves an advantage (since AA is technically government property), but alas.

Hacker is such a strong word... I prefer to use the term cheater.

I usually play on a server where I'm admin on but I have found myself in a random server and a cheater in game. First I do my spiel that a cheater better fits the definition... sometimes it bothers the guy begging for attention... by downplaying the "leetness" or whatever they feel they have.

Other times I try playing for a bit and trying to kill the cheater. It's funny because there have been times cheaters get gunned down by players before they can even do damage... causing them to be humiliated by the server... doesn't happen often but sure is funny when it does.

But yes... when no admin is around... going into spec is the best way... if everybody does it... the cheater is forced to play with himself... since no one leaves.

Then again... when you are admin... it's fun to burn/slay/slap the dude around after you grab a status to get their steam ID :o

Ahhh... can't wait for VAC 2.0.

i consider cheating something that the programers put into the game on purpose, to add some excitement to the game. something like an easter egg or a hidden game mode.

i consider hacking when you use scripts, or programs to alter how your client behaves in game.

Perhaps it's because I'm a programmer, but I still feel many of those cheaters are not hackers.

A hacker is defined as someone who is proficient at using/programming computers. The media has taken this catchy term and applied it in places where hacker shouldn't be used.

Most of the time these people could be defined as script kiddies. A hacker will create a cheat and release it publicly, and people download and use the program for their own benefit. I would rather not have the cheat released publicly in the first place, but someone will be bound to do it in today's world...

I just feel the term hacker gives cheaters too much credit, unless of course they actually created the cheat program they're using. Anyways I'll shut up now, I prolly put some people to sleep :o
