I recently discovered a cool FREE( ) terrain generator aptly named Terragen. It's crazy how realistic they can get the images to look, even with only a few minutes of experience. Here's some things that I made about 20 minutes after using it:

All of those are images of the same "render," for lack of a better word, and no extra editing was done outside of Terragen, besides converting them to .png's. you can get terragen here. Best part is that it's free! can't argue with free! :(

yeah, photobucket will do that. That's why I went into photoshop and exported them as .png's, they're much smaller than .bmp's.
wow, I should of posted this program. Ive had it for years now, Ive just havent made really neat stuff with it yet.

look around there, I've used terragen for... a year? :) Its a nice program, but i've realy moved to vue 4, just because of better control over my landscape. :D
