May 11, 200520 yr I think i'm going to cry. 1 bad weekend and i dropped like 20 places in the stats. There goes my goal. Okay , now im going to get really serious
May 11, 200520 yr well if theres any trick to stats it's not to worry about them.try out every weapon on every map and find what you can do and not do.and along the way you'll find at the very least you had fun,and maybe learned a thing or two.
May 11, 200520 yr i like to use weapons that ARENT cheap. thats why when someone calls G3A3 cheap i get really mad! >=D! but anyway, i try to see what guns work best on what map and ive figured it out. Famas=good on every map(depending on whos using it) g3a3 > famas
May 11, 200520 yr My advice is find a good weapon that you are proficient with and go with it. Much the same as what KTown said. Also, play the maps you like more.

Also, play the maps you like more. i also think it's a good thing to not get into the habit of only using 1 or 2 diff guns.although it could be easily said that i use the sterling alot but you'll also note i use ssg/drag/m4/m14 pretty regular too...oh and lets not forget the clay with i never leave home without plus when the severs not very populated i like to mess around with the knife and pistols.
May 12, 200520 yr Use your teammates as the 'shields'. Let Klink run in front of you. Do not immediately follow him when he's entering dangerous zone. If you see him dead there's a chance that you'll find the enemy behind the corner with his pants down.... Errr, I mean reloading..... or bandaging- even Klink can hit somebody (lies!!!! he's good in FA!!!!!). Shoot the enemy and register easy kill. Aim the head. Avoid the guys with high k/d ratio at all cost. Join stacked teams. Any zoo, s^d, tac, ra etc. etc. members are your friends. OK, most of the time they will steal your kills but you can watch them and learn a bit. Avoid ssg and pistols unless you like BIG challenges. If you want to snipe get sterling as a side weapon (or remmington if you feel ok with a shotgun)- unless you can snipe from the safe spot and no one will disturb you and jump in front of you. Learn how quickly switch between weapons. Use 'simple' weapons with good range (famas, ak's, m4). Do not overload yourself with the weapons. You don't need famas+ 2 pistols+ nades+ claymore. Famas+ claymore+ bandages is much more (IMO) efficient combo. Get nomenclature fast. Learn that in close quaters (sometimes) it's better to STOP shooting rather than continue useless spraying. You will notice that some players start shooting and go back (behind the corner)- if they didn't kill you with their first shots. If you would continue spraying you would empty your clip and then he/ she would come back and kill you with the remaining bullets. Treat wounded soldiers. Learn the maps. Observe the others- they might show you how certain maps can be exploited (like using side tunnel to go near bunker on sandblast or enter the roof to start the ultimate campfest- the same map).

On top of it, be a general ass. If nobody likes you, then there is a higher chance of getting higher in ranks.
May 12, 200520 yr And if somebody thinks your weapon is "cheap", ignore them and keep using it. *loads his Saiga and runs off for a few more "Cheap" kills*
May 12, 200520 yr use the shotty, use manual clay on every corner of every map and have patience with it, let klink go first, or me :-), use the m79 in iwojima, throw constant grenades, prone with m82 on golan by their spawn when new people play. CAP CAP CAP, if your about to die switch to other team then switch back ( my personal favorite) never give up!!!! lol
May 12, 200520 yr Shhhhhhhh! which leads me to the conclusion if Wolfey and me would be playing again I'd be going to learn her how to do it... On top of it, be a general ass. If nobody likes you, then there is a higher chance of getting higher in ranks. I was wondering if I should put this one... Addendum: Aim the head or neck. When you're spraying a barrel goes up so it's easier to have a headshot. Get rid of the default player models and crosshairs. Download CAL player models (you won't be considered a cheater then and you could easily notice the difference between friend and foe). Download macassault crosshairs (or any other you find suitable). Use Delta's M79 crosshair if you REALLY need to use m79 (well, it's difficult to call it crosshair, but anyway). Instead m79 I propose to use ak74 with arty I skill so you can switch to nade launcher. If you're running towards the enemy nade him then switch to full auto mode and finish them. M203 (attachment to m16) is much, much, much better but the switching between normal fire and nade launcher takes a lot of time. Use M203 when you're sure you won't be rushing soon. M16 is best all-around weapon imo (if registering is good). AK74 shoots slower than famas so there's a better chance you won't empty your clip so fast... Bind the keys you really use. If you want to use arty a lot, bind requesting arty key near your keys you use to move. Observe and listen to (is that grammatically correct?) the battlefield. Sometimes you can see (muzzle flash) and hear the enemy coming. Wait them to come! Hide behind the cover and duck. Ducking increases accuracy. So is single fire. When you notice some of your teammates has just been killed behind the corner and you hear the sounds of bandaging/ reloading go there and kill the enemy. If you found any of the above as a personal insult, I'm sorry! I don't know your on-line gaming experience. You have much better start that I had. My k/d ratio was something like 0.63 at the beginning.
May 12, 200520 yr I was just kidding about Shhhhh! I like to help if I can. So, ya, in Sandblast go down tunnel, jump over wall place clay then run down their tunnel killing them all from behind. They don't even turn around because they hear footsteps but think it is their team. Then when you are done you hear your clay blow up 4 of them LOL. It works well until Paladin shows up and smokes you every darn time you get up the ladder. Or, Josh will lant a clay at top of ladder and like a dummy I will run through it. Go in groups and ya let others go first and you pick up the garbage after that is a standard practice among many. Good point Bounty. Use M4, clay and med armor. Get stealth so you have silencer. If they can't hear you it is harder to find you. With MarksII it is hard to miss with this gun. P.S. where do you get Deltas M79 Xhair?

OK some of that quite good Yes use team8s as buffer zones. I was once right beside/sort of in front an enemy clay when a team8 ran onto it. He shielded me totally and i lived (which was a surprise) Also try to remember names of your team and where they go. That way you can see who dies/ where they are so you can see what position is comprimised. Dont avoid the guys with high k:d ratios. If you cant kill them with aim kill them with intelligence. clays, manouevre behind them, when they are reloading etc, surprise etc etc. You'll find some players who only practise aim are really quite poor at tactical play. tip for cqb. The person who shoots last usually wins always use heal during combat. if a sniper kills you always make them your first target next. one advantage of a sniper killing you is that, it gives away their position and they usually stay in the same place. Dont join the stacked team. If you want to learn quicker you should be playing against the hardest team. You will rarely find me on the same side as s^d members (but thats just because i get my kicks from killing them) They normally all go on the same side. Then when the map is nearly over they both switch to the other side *laff* A good motto to go by is " If a weapon annoys an enemy USE IT MORE" i think hud_fastswitch still works for changing weapons quickly. skills: get nomenclature and battlefield agility. quick reloads and massively increased manouverability, longer sprint and increased tactical options. p.s. there is no such thing as retreat only tactical outmanouevring. e.g. basically its all about making the enemy fight you on your terms not theirs. gl
May 12, 200520 yr I was just kidding about Shhhhh!? I know P.S. where do you get Deltas M79 Xhair? Armory forums? last year... topic with no replies... the topic was like: "I'm going to share with you with my crosshairs. They helped me, I hope they can help you". I can sent it to you. OK, why am I asking? I'm going to sent it to your e-mail adress. Beware! there's no m4, m14 sprites (the main file doesn't have it) so don't overwrite the whole contents of the sprites folder. I finally managed (yesterday) to add those crosshairs but it's no good (both weapons are labelled ak74...) and probably I messed up with the sprites (all m4, m14 kills look like they were made by claymore, clay doesn't have it's own icon...). are[D]evil]Dont avoid the guys with high k:d ratios. You will rarely find me on the same side as s^d members (but thats just because i get my kicks from killing them) They normally all go on the same side. Then when the map is nearly over they both switch to the other side *laff* I partially disagree with that part. It's difficult to kill the guys with high k/d ratios only with intelligence. IMHO the most important part is experience (aside of spam and manual clays). They (top players) are not monkeys that run fast forward, spraying and praying. They usually don't reload near the enemy. They don't need the whole clip to kill 2 or 3 opponents. They usually save some ammo for the one waiting for them behind the corner. It's difficult- at least imo- to learn from the best when you're on the wrong side of the rifle and you usually didn't notice who, how and when just killed you. Putting personal differences aside (s^d clan? ), IMO joining stacked team saves new player from frustrate thinking: "how the .... (<--- it's a place for your favourite curse) did he killed me?" DD, when did you start playing FA? 2.5? earlier? You've got lots of experience, she has none (as far as I know). That's why I think it's better to join stacked teams. I agree with the rest you said.
May 14, 200520 yr Author Well, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your input. I would also like to say that i think it has helped me. LOL I seem to be getting a little better scores. I'm also realizing now that people do try to let u go first so they get your kill. LOL
May 23, 200520 yr And if somebody thinks your weapon is "cheap", ignore them and keep using it. *loads his Saiga and runs off for a few more "Cheap" kills* Hey DeadRoach can you contact me via PM or vent ASAP. We couldnt get you via PM..didnt know if you had the notify option off.
May 23, 200520 yr If all else fails drink... I dunno about FA... but when I play CS I appear to play better under the influence... perhaps it's just a coincidence though... or maybe I'm the only one that thinks I play well... I will never know...
May 23, 200520 yr :o Got laughs this thread. Especially Bounty's tips to follow Klink but not too close. I am better off with "1 Bourbon, 1 Scotch, 1 beer". Not too much though. Seems I get so into it, besides missing some screen text when busy scanning/listening for enemies, my hands shake a tiny bit, I think from adreneline, getting over pumped, close to exploding.
