Photoshop CS

Featured Replies

I just got this dl and installed on my computer. I have paintshop 8 & 9, and am wondering if CS is better than paintshop? Anybody know, or are they both comparable? I'm just getting in to the making of stuff and heard photoshop CS has some amazing features.

Photoshop is much better.

IMO, a much better interference for once, much more tools, and it just seems more user-freindly. I'd definitly recomend it over paintshop.

But then saying, Paintshop can work out fine, i have a freind who uses it and kicks ass with it, and paintshop is only 60$ or so while photoshop is 600

I'm just learning , and shes helping me but doesnt know photoshop. Maybe ill learn paintshop and then when i know what im doing switch to photoshop. :(

i work with photoshop.

used to use Paintshop pro, if its the same thing.

photoshop is just a better program overall, and ive been using it for years.

As someone who works in advertising design, don't waste your time with anything other than Photoshop. The only graphics programs that real designers care to see on a resume are primarily the Adobe products (excluding web and 3D design softwares).

For general use, Paintshop may be easier to learn but as far as longevity and "bang for the buck", you'll find that you'll get much more high quality designs from Photoshop once you really dig into the tool.

Hope this helps.

i've been working with texturing/photo manipulation stuff for a while, and photoshop is definately the better choice in the long run. personally though, i use the GIMP. it's open-source, and works very well. it's a tad more confusing than photoshop at first but i've come to like it better.
