Just found this posted on the FA forums in the BF2 thread, thought I might share. I haven't tried it out, so respond if this works.

 

Hokay, so, here's how to unlock the special weapons. They're in the demo, but you can't earn them, meaning you have to be a leet haxor to get them. Or you just have to edit one file. Only works in singleplayer, though, so you can't whip out the Jackhammer on bitches in multiplayer.

 

Find your Battlefield 2 demo folder. Mine is G:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo.

 

Go to \Battlefield 2 Demo\python\bf2\stats.

 

Find the file "unlocks.py". Open this file in Notepad.

 

Find the line in this file that reads "defaultUnlocks = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0]" and change it to "defaultUnlocks = [1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1]" (minus the quotes, of course). It's not very far down in the file, so it shouldn't be too hard to spot. Oh, and it helps to back this file up first, in case you **** it up.

 

This will give you access to the unlockable weapons for all of the classes in singleplayer. To select them, there should be a little arrow button thingy above each class's weapon, on the class select screen. Clicking this button toggles your weapon.

yea, I wonder if this is going to be in retail

so i spent the 12 hours needed to dl it while i was at work. got home. opened it. says missing file. great. maybe ill dl it agian sometime next week

Well i've done the dirty flawlessly and BTW works in multiplayer aswell. Some waay better weapons... I took out a pilot with the **** cannon... I'm a dip**** when it comes to comps so i know most of you can do it aswell

Look out, EA might ban you off the face of the earth if you use this in singleplayer...
