As cool as they may sound. I don't see the point of them unless you run more then 3-4 programs at once. I just have a 3000+ and I can run firearms and guildwars at the same time.
It's a dual core chip, so basicly its like having two processors in one. It's a step up from the multiple processor systems that have been around for a while as they fit in the standard AMD64 motherboards. Gaming wise, there's not a lot of advantage because most games can only use one processor at a time. It's more for the high end graphics and audio guys that run multiple programs that can utilize two processors at the same time.

they very good if you multitask or render

if your a gamer or you care about peak performance than the fx is what you want

if you want budget than get a regular amd64

I agree but they perform almost as good as top single cores with the advantage of multitasking.

I think it is a win win for the consumer.

ya but for 800$ id want more than just being able to multitask better

for rendering and ect itd be worth it

but compared to 200-300 for the same performance in games id never pay for it

when you could get a fx for the same price and have way better performance in games

its all based on what you want and how much your willing to spend

eventually youll be able to buy dual core fx's

OMG *drool* must...get...dualcore...and new windows OS...mmmm....look at that speed. tastytasty. imagine running games like doom3, DOW, and battlefield 2...on full maxed fx. without any system lag. that processor + a tasty vid card and half a gig to 1 gig of ram, and i could die a happy man

I find it funny how there's so much hype about the X2s when in reality theyre not the best solution for a gamer...

O well, theyre money not mine. :D
