June 18, 200520 yr GC is a community of gamers from all over the world who enjoy playing Battlefield 1942 (BF42) and Battlefield Vietnam (BFV) (and now BF2) but were disappointed by the lack of teamwork and Rambo style of play found on most public servers. GC is also an open tournament for individuals and clans to compete against each other. This tournament has been modeled after conquest style board games such as Risk and Axis & Allies. The difference being that instead of rolling dice to simulate combat we actually fight out the battles on our 64 player servers using BF42 and BFV. www.global-conflict.org This is a very cool tournament. Basically, you make an account, sign up with the BF2 tournament, and then choose a side (US or EC). Then, you gain access to either of the side's forums (matters who you choose) from there you can post up your info in the squad sections to be recruited into one of the squads, or post around in that sides discussion forum. There is also loads of other forum sections (Help sections, general discussion, etc.) Basically, one (or multiple, I"m not sure) people are voted from each side by the members of either side to be that side's general. The general is presented with a map with territories. They place their 'armies' (groups of players) and their capitols in their currently owned territories. Then, on Battledays (Saturdays and Sundays I do believe) the general chooses an enemy territory to attack. The random map that was choosen for that territory by the game masters is played on, and if the invading force wins a certain number of rounds, that side gets the territory, if they lose, nothing happens (I believe, I'm still new to it) I've signed up, definatly hope it's a good time. Just giving you guys the heads up on this.
June 18, 200520 yr Very cool, I remember they had something like this for DC. I never signed up, but it looked very fun.
June 18, 200520 yr Author US was locked when I signed up, so I'm on the EC using the name Caste I signed up with the Light Infantry/Air Mobile
June 18, 200520 yr I think I will sign up. Perhaps TAC member could be given their own squad? I posted for Air Mobile/Infantry as well.
June 18, 200520 yr Author I think I will sign up. Perhaps TAC member could be given their own squad? if we asked nicely, maybe
June 18, 200520 yr if we asked nicely, maybe We would have to drum up enough support here first. Once that, I'm sure we could be given our own squad (or take over one for that matter).
June 19, 200520 yr yea, I see SS6 and MX7 have signed up for the EC Didn't have much choice, though I figured it would be cool to be on the same team.
June 19, 200520 yr Welcome to GC those that have signed up. Like I've said before and I'm sure I'll say again till I'm blue in the face; GC is not a clan, its a community and a tournament where individuals and clans are welcome. Make of it what you want to. The playing field is forever changing. But, you will be asked to join a side and you will be asked to see it through, and you will be asked on the appropriate occasion to shoot the **** out of your friends. By the way; cool site you have here.

We look forward to participating in GC.
