Make sure you are actually trying to connect to "Battlefield 2 Demo" servers, and not regular servers. I'm not even sure if there are any Demo servers left out there since the fullversion is out.

If you can't find servers to play on, definitely give the single player version a try. It's well worth it and the bots are actually pretty good. You can still confuse them pretty easily - but their aim is better than on some of these pub servers.

If your issues are technical - what are your hardware spec's?

There was a thread concerning this problem... and demo servers are still running (I play demo).
If you can afford to upgrade your pc for this high demanding game, then it's worth it. If not like in my case I can't afford all the upgrading like getting windows xp first in order to play, and probably a new video card and whatever else that needs an upgrade, then it's not really worth getting if you can't afford the upgrades like me . Hence my new sig.

I have Windows 2k professional and works fine. Just aslong as it's built on a 32bit system or higher and NT tech. I scared aswell when i read that it required XP. Another small detail is that I'm running with Nvidea FX5200 graphics card....... waay below system requirements. I admit everything is turned off and on lowest setting for videa though. Still looks great but could be better. I just don't have the money to upgrade. I'm running a 1.5 gigs of ram to help muahahahahahah! :peace:

My specs are:

AMD64 3000

NForce3 chipset

1.5 gig DDR400

6800GT

My computer is pretty solid but the gameplay still gets choppy at times.

Infantry seem to warp a lot so engaging with small arms is more luck than anything.

I enjoy being the gunner on the chopper, I love that bomb :peace:

I however, hate searching for servers, I have around 60 ping and it takes forever sometimes to search. BF2 has crashed a couple times on me when searching for servers. My computer never crashes on other games or blue screens so I think it must be BF2.

I personally wish I didn't spend the $50. BF2 is a great game it just needs some major patching before its playable.
