If the first patch doesnt at least address SOME of the myriad bugs and

 

glitches that somehow made it through the non-existent alpha and beta

 

stages, I am going to actively consider selling my copy so that I can stop

 

wasting my summer playing a game that has the same pros and cons as

 

crack and get something productive done.

 

 

With that being said, i will sell it for 30 bucks, so if you havent bought it yet,

 

play the demo and maybe I will sell you the DVD version at a bargain price in

 

a week or two.

 

 

If I ever meet a QA tester for EA I will punch him the face.

The only annoying bug I've found is that when you filter for "Not Full" servers it gives you full servers

or how it just doesnt count stats sometimes, that is really anoying to play for a few hours and comes up not changed at all

I agree with Defcon. The menu lag is horrible. The EA servers are always full or empty or lag. It takes too long to log in and join a game. Etc etc etc.

Man, dont think I wont do it either. When Star Wars Battlefront turned out to suck big time, I sold it the 3rd day I had it. I really, really like BF2's gameplay, its just that they dont want me to enjoy it for something

rename that folder or rename all the bik files in it and poof no more menu lag..

 

as for the ea servers.. stay away from the 64's.. 32's are usually nice.. if you cant resist the 64's look for ones without VOIP enabled..

If you actually read the post, you would note that I am waiting for the first patch before I even consider selling my copy. Even then, I dont expect them to fix every bug, just at least a couple major ones. I believe I have every right to be flabbergasted over the apparent lack of QA testing this game recieved. I shelled out 50 bucks, and I didnt get 50 bucks worth of product..... yet. I am fully confident that the bugs will be fixed in time (look at bf42, sucked at launch, near perfect eventually).

I love how console games work the first time around but most PC games like this take years of patching

(Though I do like PC games better, just saying lol)

The problem is that EA GAVE a LOT of people reasons to complain. They seem to not care at all about what the fan base is saying. They have been doing things with BF2 to make people mad and not even attempting to change it.

 

heres a small list:

 

1. (the biggest for me seeing as I am a GF4 user) No support for older graphics cards at all. They give excuses for this, but they are BAD excuses that have been proven wrong or people dont mind:The game wont run fast enough on these older cards---Proven very wrong; It wont look as good: We dont care, we just want to play the game without spending $100+ on a new graphics card). Fortunately people are working on a fix for this, yet EA is not and have stated that they don't plan to. The problem with the fix is that Punkbuster may detect it as a hack and ban people for it.

 

2. This is just from the demo, but the whole time limit thing and taking servers off of the master list. That made a lot of people mad.

 

3. BAD BAD BAD login system. I know a lot of people who have problems even logging in sometimes.

 

4. Menu lag....apparently people have found a fix like Jasun said, but EA didnt seem to care.

 

5. Other random bugs that I have seen first hand on friends' computers, but that can be expected for the first release of a game.

I rather rename notepad files that are 0k as bik. Because I bet the game in the next patch will start checking to see if you have those files.

they don't outright suckthere are a few bugs, but every game has those.

 

It's fairly easy to find a good game (sometimes it isn't) and once you do it's a blast

 

and there's nothing here that a good patch won't fix

yeah actually i did....it was somewhat fun, maybe not outright suckage but i dont know how to do half the things in that game correctly. Flying for example. >_<! nuff said about that. and the process of killing a TANK ALONE. oh boy. 4 AA rockets and it still doesnt die! and the other tanks cant kill it either! D:

BF2 is one of the best games ever, it just has a number bugs and issues that should be non-existent at this point

yeah, you were using AA rocketstry using the TOW launcher. 1 hit for APC kills it, 2 hits for tanks

Ok, first its a game, yes it cost 50 bucks but so what. I am old enough to recall the only vid game we had at home was pong. Since EA has a better rep. then Nova I am confident that they will address the issues. Do I enjoy the wait for a server no, do I enjoy the TK's when I shoot a player who has red name, but is on my team NO. But it's fun.

P.S I aint that old, just amazed at how far things have come.
