June 12, 200322 yr Ok i have posted about this in other areas but now im getting truly frustrated, I m continually crashing out of HL and getting packet errors described as WSAEINTR errors. WHY????? I have tried some suggested fixes but none worked, im thinking a port conflict is the culprit but i dont know how to fix this.

June 12, 200322 yr Perhaps have you a virus attack !Uninstall all : hl, fa, cs, etc... ( Remove all mod games ).And reinstall all with the hl & cs keys...Egidio.

June 12, 200322 yr I typed "Perhaps" but i had 2 times HL crashed & i must do to uninstall & reinstall all !And i dont have installed an anti-virus : it make nothing when a new one is created !Egidio.
June 12, 200322 yr I finded there is 1 / 1 000 000 access to get a virus in playing net games !1 / 1 000 in receiving an e-mail !But 1 / 100 in receiving "joined piece" and open it when you dont know where they come from !Egidio.

And since : nothing...Egidio.PS. I know that Norton create virus to sell them anti-virus... And Update are free...
June 12, 200322 yr The only viri I got was sent to me on purpose.I never run it and never have. Never will.Bring it on.I do not use Kaza or anything like that so I do not bother.Once in a while I do the free Virus scan from MacAfee and do my whole "C" drive.Besides if you back up you dont have to worry.I have my C drive and boot partition backed up on other HD's and on the same drive. I would just insert a floppy, restore the bootable sector and etc etc.

June 12, 200322 yr I think that "WSAEINTR error" is an internal error of the HL programm or his .dll files... You know the next... Go to see my posts above...Egidio.PS. What is that : "WSAENOTSOCK" as the same name as a TA Member ?
June 12, 200322 yr Have you deleted all the misc no size letter files in HL folder and the FA folder.?Have you tried installing it on another partitian.?Redownload the 2.7 update. Redownload the 2.6.5 full install. Possible corruption.Direct x 9.1b installed?Windows XP updated fully?What is running in the background.....Goto msconfig and see.Only run the minimal stuff.Doesn't XP have firewalls/protection of sort. Check your browser security levels.
