Okay guys, I'm curious of your impressions. Most of us have unlocked our first weapons now. I'm curious to know how you feel about your choice. Give us the whole lowdown down to your impressions about accuracy, control, and terminal performance!

I'll start off... as the support man, I went with the PKM. A fellow brother Support man in another forum had stated to his fellow resupply friends "If you like support as your main class, the PKM will not disappoint you". He was right.

Granted, it does has it's issues. Unless your prone and sighted in, it can't hit the broadside of a barn. And compared the the US SAW, it's rate of fire is slower than a snail. However...

The thing hits like a freakin' BEAST! It takes considerably less hits to get your kill, and I seem to bring helicopters to smoking and retreating much faster than I ever did with any other LMG. The accuracy thing is not hard to get around. If your Prone, sighted in, and fire in short bursts, the accuracy is adaquate enough to get the job done up to about one average game city block away. And since this is the style of play I used with the other LMG's, I didn't have much adjustments to do. In fact, my kill rate has gone UP due to the fact my shots hit alot harder and my accuracy with the new weapon hasn't suffered much using this technique.

Full auto on this weapon should never be used except in close up combat (aiming at the waiste if the opponate is at extreme close range and the two of you is running around like idiots seems to be most effective in this situation) or trying to take down a vehicle.

One last thing... it just sounds freakin' cool. Nice and meaty! This thing fires you think "Oh yah! this is gonna freakin' hurt!)

Unlocked the jackhammer. Instant kill against 1-2 infantry up close. My knife is strong enough to take another out if need be.

Horrible at any range over about 20 meters. Might as well take off your shoe and throw it. LOL.

All in all, though, I'm pretty happy with it.

My next will be the L85. Had some face time when I picked it off a dead enemy medic... very nice scope and accuracy seems to be pretty good.

i have a question..

is the US Anti-Tank upgrade more powerful? cause the default one sucks

Yeah, the anti-tanks main are meant to be weak. Weapon choices aren't supposed to give you very much advantage, but the upgrade is just a shotgun, so take it or leave it kinda thing.. sucks. I wanted a NUKE BOMB

Isn't the AT upgrade the Jackhammer Carl was raving about? Everybody who talks about that shotty loves it.
ok im trying to remember, is the jackhammer the 12 round-drum shotty or the weird pointy looking shotty? even though i dont play BF2 i still would like to talk about its weaps. :D
I went with the L85. I thought it was cool to begin with, especially with the scope, but I have since stopped using it. It is too wimpy and innaccurate in any real situation. On fully automatic it couldnt even hit a guy like 5 feet away, it was ridiculous. The m16 is my one true love for now
The Jackhammer is the "wierd pointy shotty" the "drum shotgun" is the Street Sweeper.

I unlocked the medic gun just for teh fact that I am solely a medic. The gun itself isnt too impressive for me. Just not enough power. Plus Im already deadly with the M16 and MEC medic gun(AK-somethingorother) so I dont feel like relearning the weapon. Doesnt seem to be too accurate and not very powerful either, not a good combo in my books.

But then other people really like it, so I dunno. Maybe it's me.

I unlocked the DAO-12 for the Anti-Tank/Vehicle kit. Very powerful gun up close... well, not too powerful, but it fires as fast as I can click, which is pretty fast.

DAO-12 = Up close

Rocket Launcher = Snipeage

If you didn't notice, I like AT :D

I unlocked the G3, I really like the takedown power but the thing i dont like it only has 20 rounds just like in FA other than that i like it alot.

Mr

I went ahead and got the g3, its got amazing damage, and with descent accuracy it is a very deadly weapon, the two things holding this kit down from total domination are the 20 rounds clips :D (sigh) and you lose your grenade launcher that was on the m16, but if you want some damage with accuracy, go for the g3.

what he said :]
I went with the DAO12 AT upgrade. Like DeadRoach, I've been doing quite a bit of support role - especially on the urban maps (nothing like laying down a fire field down a narrow alley). I was torn between the PKM, the DAO, and the G3. In the end, I looked at which would be the best improvement for me overall. As was mentioned, you lose the M203/GL when going to the G3, and the regular SAW was working pretty well in support roles. But up close, that DAO is a beast. It's a lot easier to cap/hold a flag position having AT capability AND the abilty to decimate anyone who comes in close with those buckshot rounds to the face. I was VERY disappointed at the sniper upgrade. A .50cal should not take 2-3 center-of-mass hits to bring down infantry! :D
Unlocked the g3. I usually play anti-tank so I really should have unlocked that category but the g3 just gave me that warm "FA" kind of feeling. Has great take down power. Single shot on it is very accurate.
