I patched Bf2 this morning but didn't play right after. I go to play this evening and in the list of ranked are only UK and a few U.S. server with super high pings. What happened to all EA West Coast and the 25+ server with a ping of 50ms or less? I'm not liking this patch so far.

Well I'm still having problems all the WC servers don't show and once I uncheck same version they show in red and i can't log on to them. I'm curious if anyone knows the reason why they arn't updated yet?

 

Also I'm curious if anyone has heard anything about when EA < is going to let private servers be ranked if ever?

 

The whole situation with not letting private servers be ranked has really left a bad taste in my mouth. I had visions of us TAC members having squads and just rocking peoples world with our superior team work and intesive FPS background.

So far it's a very difficult task to get even a few of us on the same server and not only that, but it's been rare.

 

I'm venting because I know this game can be alot better without EA's involvment. They are taking all of these measures to ensure BF2 doesn't get hacked or whtever. Well What about all of their other games like C&C Generals with the expantion? I stoped playing that game because of all the hacks that had been easly proven yet nothing was done about it. That is one game I know for sure from EA that has been just riddled with cheating. I don't see any reason why their other games arn't the same way. I don't choose to cheat personly I just want to have fun and play the game the way it's supposed to be played. I'm sure most of people that play FPS's feel the same way. I know ranting doesn't solve anything so any ideas on what we can do as a Clan to resolve our issue of NOT BEING RANKED!?

 

I was chatting with Gator a day after BF2 came out about the issue at hand. Gator mentioned something about writing a letter/ e-mailing EA with our concerns and maybe a proposal of allowing an EA admin to have access to the Armory server anytime they want to check up on us. To me that is an outstanding idea and am all for it.

 

I'm done with ranting on and on about this just wanted to bring up my thoughts on the situation.

HOTFIX for Battlefield 2 v1.01 Coming Soon

 

First off, a HUGE thanks to all of you who emailed me in regards to the memory leak found in the update we released earlier this week (v1.01). Your emails found their way to our production team and they're in the process of evaluating what needs to be done in order to get this fixed. In the meantime, and since the 1.01 update is causing memory leakage on some systems, we recommend that you reinstall the game and NOT the v1.01 update we released earlier this week.

 

Reinstalling Battlefield 2 will not affect your in-game medals or ranked server statistics. EA and DICE are committed to getting a fix for v1.01 as soon as we possibly can and will continue to keep you informed through this web space in the coming days.

 

NOTE: If you installed and are running the newer server files (Win and Linux versions) we made available earlier this week, please revert those as well. We found that those files had the same issues with memory leaks as did the v1.01 update. You can download the older versions here.

Nice, huh? Makes you wonder why all the "official" EA servers never updated to begin with.

The patch thing is really no problem
