I love watching big thunder storms, from a distance, the lightening, thunder, remembering what the air currents are doing, from lessons in flight school long ago. Makes me find clouds more interesting to observe then most people. :D That is, more interesting for me then others to observe. Better then observing the people too, unless ... :D

Ofcourse I hate damaging storms. Though I've dreamed about seeing tornado from safe distance since child years. They fascinate me. How they work and get their energy and such. I've wondered since teen years if a way could be found to take that energy, heat, humidity, wind, "out of their sails." Howabout using HARP ? Harmonic aureal research project. In Alaska since "Cold War". A dozen football field sized transmitters that transmit microwaves. Intended for heating up and shooting down missiles over north pole ? Apparently it has been found they can cause "Northern Lights" from exciting/heating up upper atmosphere. But those tests are supposedly more careful now as there are concerns of soem microwave radiation bouncing back down to ground, depending on angle of direction. But it made me wonder if you heated up and vaporized the water droplets in big storms, would storm strenght be reduced. My guess is now is no. I suspect it would add energy.

Anyway, i hope that hurricane "cools off" asap. Otherwise as it tracks north with counterclockwise rotation, it may push central us air up our way in ontario canada. which would raise temps nicely i guess, but increase our storms too. :D

Here's a video I took of Hurricane Charlie that hit Punta Gorda last year. Sorry its small but its a lot of footage. About 15MB. Downtown Punta Gorda looked like a bomb had hit it.
