Posted September 9, 200520 yr Has anyone a legitimate, unused, extra Half-Life 1 CD-Key I can have? If you haven't been keeping up on the WaW forums, my original Steam Account has been 'disabled', and there is nothing I can do to get it back. My woman has bought HL2, but it doesn't come with HL1 stuff. So, before I go spend ten bucks, I wonder if any of you have an extra key laying around? PM or reply within.
September 9, 200520 yr dude.... srry cant help you there... but the universal HL series serial is 9876-54123-1234 as simple as that seems... it works.... it wont work for steam.... but if you install it as its own program... well then... it works.... also drop buy ur local wal-mart, they have the HL combo pack (hl,oposing force, blueshift,TFC,CS) with all the serials for each game, it is steam compatable, and it costs 19.99.... but thats here in OH... not sure where ur at... so yea... thats all i can do for u man, lata :peace: (W9)
September 9, 200520 yr Sorry to hear of the possible injustice. I can save you $10 because i have 3 HL1 cds. Only 2 in use by me and TigerHawk. You should be fine using this. I'll pm it in 1 minute. This is the TAC community, 1 for all, all for 1. :peace: "You can't touch this" :peace:

September 9, 200520 yr Author yea ur woman pmed me and i still dont understand why was it disabled? There are two possible reasons, p-sus. One is that I was recently banned from YIS. The more likely, given Steam's response to my inquiry, is that because I bought my game of a less-than-homourable friend, my cd-key has apparently been used elsewhere. Because I cannot provide a digital photo of the cd-key itself, I am screwed. Alas. That's allright. KW bought a new HL2 (she's addicted, I swear!). I've been given a HL1 cd-key, but I'm a little worried about using it. It has been used before, and is therefore connected to another steam account. I do trust that it will never be used again, but I'm worried Steam won't like it, and will again disable my account. What do you boys think?

I wouldn't use it just because it seems you have got a red flag or something with Steam. Just spend the 10 bucks or so and be safe.
September 9, 200520 yr lol, $10 isnt much. but still thats lame that your goat-of-a-friend did that :/
September 9, 200520 yr if you can find a way, upgrading to the Silver package gives you the entire back catalogue

September 10, 200520 yr I got that platinum pack thingy and gave 1 to a friend and another to that falshrimjager guy. But long story. See steam ate a cd key for an account, so I had to create another account with a new cd key(thankfully I had the platinum pack). But I never named any of my accounts after email addresses. It was always some random thing. So since I was able to access it again after a few months passed(gg valve on that one), I just deleted everything inside the account on my pc and left it dormant. So I gave falsch that one. Sure, he can change the email and password, but the name is a random string that is now permanent, and if I want to I can get his account revoked. :peace: But Im not like that. I do trust that it will never be used again, but I'm worried Steam won't like it, and will again disable my account. What do you boys think? Thats why I gave him the account name, not the cd key, to be safe. You could ask for the original account name and password, but it might be named after an email account, which might be a problem with the original owner.
September 10, 200520 yr If the original person that used that steam account name login and old hl1 key has since created new steam login name and account with new hl1 cd kit, I guess question maybe is can and should that old unused acct be deleted ?
September 10, 200520 yr Sorry to hear that but YIS FA server is shut down since few days... If I retreive it, I can to send you one of the 3 hl1 saved keys and never used but it's in Euro validation, don't know if in USA will work good? Egidio.
September 11, 200520 yr Are you looking for an account or a CD key? Because i DO have a steam account i don't use, at all. I've quit STEAM, it's been uninstalled (with the exception of the PoP bash) for just about a year now. You can have it, just throw me an email at recondoschool1 at yahoo dot com if you're interested, klif.
September 12, 200520 yr Author I'm an absolute retard, and my Woman's an absolute genius. She's all "Just make a new Steam Account and use Hogan's Key. If you get caught, it won't affect the HL2 account." and I'm all "Wait a second! I -have- another account. Yes, and it still has HL1 attached to it! What a retard!" So I just signed in under my old oldschool name, and HOORAY. Kliffy back.

As I said I think I correct on, that key could be you setting up steam acct at camp, or anywhere, after buying cds from me. Should be fine. As long as I don't use it again. :o Or more specifically at same time. Which would hurt me as well as you so I would not do it. "It's cool". :o Which means I have effectively given up that cd and key to you. I couldn't use the cd anymore anyway, to scratched from dirty cdroms reading it too close.
