Macgyvers take on FA and the new server

Featured Replies

I must say, that i feel very sad, that the good old times with FA are over. I know, i was one of many, which wanted the BF2 Server, but i miss the good old times. It was a great time and i will never forget some of the people i was playing with. I had so many things to say to some of them, but i cant do it now..

BF2 has many similarities to FA:

A lot of the weapons are the same.

You can sprint

You can heal or be healed

You can single shot.

There are smaller 16 player servers that are sort of like playing FA and have limited amounts of vehicles.

So don't think that FA is dead. It has just evolved.

BF2 won't run on lower-end graphics cards.

Vehicles make being an Infantriman unneccesarily tough to play.

Sixteen-player servers are not my TA friends.

An ATI 9100 will run BF2 with 512mb of ram and a CPU of 2000mhz.

I have pointed this out many a time in these forums. They were $35 shipped from www.crucial.com refurb. They come in about once a month.

I have 2 systems that are capable of this setup. it looks like you are playing Desert Combat b/c the graphics are not up to snuff but the gameplay is fine.

As in real war. ( LOLOL ) If you see a a tank or a armored vehicle. What do you do?

RUN.

Simple.

And what is the 16 player not thingy?

Hogan and I have low-end graphic cards and I don't have problems just only on high ping servers and any major open water maps like clean sweep. Just put all your settings to the lowest settings besides it's just graphics :(

You mentioned that BF2 has smaller servers. I'm saying I prefer to play with people I know -- and all the people I know are TAC'cers playing on the TAC server.

Mine is apparently so bad that BF2 won't even load on it. Geforce MX 4 for the lose.

Mac, Thirty-Five dollars for a graphics card plus fifty for the game equals no groceries for two weeks. Priorities dissallow my computer-upgrading needs.

For two weeks only? Youre a damn millionare.

...well, the Woman does the finances, but doesn't $85 bucks for two weeks of groceries sound right?

in my house its about $200 for 1 week. But then again, it's a family of 5, with 3 boys.

I'd kill for an $85 for two week grocery bill. :D

TFD

PFFFTTTT....i go without groceries for 3 weeks NORMALLY. and when we do get groceries they cost $300 and we have a family of 5 with 1 boy, ME. my sisters are only 9 and 6 and they dont even eat much. so YEAH. the groceries are gone in one week too :D

back on topic, FA will always have that UBERFASTPACEDOHYOUGOTPWNT feel to it. ill miss it, but ill try to remember it. (because my memory sucks =[ )

Lol, god only knows how much we spend for grocories at my house :D .

2 boys (me 17, my brother 13) and my sister at the age of 15 :) .

and of course my dad and mom :(

BF2 is growing on me, bit by bit...

Nothing will ever take the place of the raw, pureistic rush of firearms though, where reflexes and accuracy and creativity trumped all... and if you were good, teamwork just wasn't an issue. :p

BF2 can. I have had many a player rush mimicking the great aspects of FA. It is only with certain maps though.
