DOD:S Requirements.

Featured Replies

Well it seems that DOD:S does not need that much if you turn down your settings.

Have a TI4200. You will be in great shape.

Gf5200 30's to 60's fps.

Low end Radeon. 9100, 9200. 30's to 60's

Even Klif is playing on a GF4 MX440 I believe with success.

I think 512mb of system ram helps.

Having a processor of around 1800mhz too.

VideoFPS is more dependant on your screen settings.

Now for the server stuff.

I have been on many a server with loss and choke. Including ours.

Hopefully valve will fix this issue.

i have a geforce fx 5600 ultra with everything on high and i get 45 fps. No lighting or antialiasing though, that lags me
what servers do yall play on? I have always played on Frenchy's Pit servers cuz they have pretty good admins and try to keep people respectful. They also have rank working on Source and I know for old DoD they had Psychostats, theyll probly get em up for Source too.

I play at frenchy's #3 mostly, but also at 1 and 2

And TAC.

I turned off the lighting effects and run in 1280 x 1040 or w/e [lcd res] with out any problems. 6600gt with no aliasing and low shaders and I get 60 - 80 fps , lower with large amounts of people playing.

I have pretty much figured out my rates so that I dont get choke or loss on most all servers.

r_shadows 0 [increases fps a bit]

cl_cmdrate 100 [choke, loss]

cl_updaterate 100 [choke, loss]

cl_cmdbackup 1 [choke, loss]

rate 31000 [choke, loss]

Those work great on TAC.

Although I wouldn't call it "success", I am playing -- and winning! -- with my piddly system. Turned down a bunch of crap, getting 20fps, but playing nonetheless!

That is good Klif.

Maybe for Xmas I will send you a GF4 TI4200.

I will need an Address tho.

Mac

Game doesn't play too bad on my 1.8 ghz AMD. I do have 512mgs of RAM and a x800 vid card, but at 800X600, the game still looks good at modest texture settings and performs considerably better than CS:S for me.

Pity the gameplay isn't much better from the original tho :/ At least it feels like they finally got the Garand right... which was all I asked.

I was hoping people were experiencing this.

The performance I get on other machines is Great. I mean b/c the high end graphics are turned off. My TI4200's get better framerate than my own computer and it looks good too.

The Garand is a good gun. Love the nade launcher.

I like getting the rocket guy and dropping the rocket at spawn. Then pick up a Thompson, Bar, or sniper for an ultimate combo. The M1 semi is Great too.
