Might Make Sense in BF2

I was thinking instead of getting badges for no reason really, they should have made it so you get an upgrade.

For instance:

Basic supply gives you more armor

Vet Supply gives you a faster supply reloading time for handing out supplies

etc.

Spec Ops basic could run faster

Vet could get a better laser site

You get the idea.

Would be nice to see something like this and at least get an advantage of some kind for earning these medals otherwise they are just window dressing.

that would be a cool idea, it would actually vary the gameplay instead of just getting something that servers really no purpose.

cool idea, to balance it make only like 2 badges equipable and recieving bonuses from at a time

Yes, good idea or Sharp will be owning us even worse than now with all his added skills.

Engineers could recover mines.

On basic lvl:

with the certain speed and

friendly mines only and when the engineer who put them already died (you know they last more than one spawn) and

with 50% of success and

they could see the enemy mines in 5 feet range (diameter) unless the engineer is in a vehicle.

On 'vet' lvl:

2 times faster for friendly mines with 100% of success

enemy mines with 25% of success with the speed for friendly mines on basic lvl

visible range 10 feet

On expert lvl:

friendly mines 4 times faster (that would mean really quick)

enemy mines with 50% of success etc. etc.

visible range 20 feet

Note: you can't see the enemy mines while you're in a jet or heli.

Medics would have faster healing time and more first aid kits etc.

Snipers- more clays (umm, not a good idea- more TK's :p ) and faster reload, especially for M24 and M95.

Assault- more nades (either m203/gp30 or normal)

This would be a reason for the players to 'invest' in one class. Better rank= better equipment.

how about for snipers...getting a rifle that hits more than 20% of the time :p . that or make the accuracy go up. and for AT, FASTER SPRINT. if any class, they should be the fastest so they can do hit and runs with their rockets.

really:D that would be nice

Maybe, but limit the upgrades to maybe 3 (3 possible choices, and then rookie, vet, and pro versions of it. ) Dont want some guy to get all super-soliders!.

Like me. :p

It wouldn't matter if you only got the bonus for the current class you were playing. You couldn't use the spec-ops "upgrades" when playing AT, etc.

But... what are the chances of this happening? :peace:

In BF2? none. They would need to reevaluate the whole system. They would need to balance all of the upgrades (also taking under consideration the 'bonus' as we have now - weapons unlock; for example: m95 sniper could be too powerful). And finally it would create a mess in the first weeks of playing, not to mention we would hear a lot of crying and whining (from those with low experience points).

I doubt they didn't think of it. It would be a new level of FPS (it would be like FPS + RPG) and any company would want to be the first. But they decide differently.

But there's some light in the tunnel: before the patch, as someone pointed out, you needed 10 years of constant gaming to unlock all of the weapons...

O.K. so when you see that first game come out let me know so I can collect some royalties because my idea is here first. :peace:

Another thing that is too bad about BF2 is that fact that it takes no requirements but global points to get rank increase until you hit Master Sergeant ( at 20,000 and unlock incl. ) and then you need these requirements to get First Sergeant also at 20,000 points but no unlock.

Requirements:

Rank: Gunnery Sergeant

Score: 20000

Awards: Basic Knife Combat Badge, Basic Pistol Combat Badge, Basic Assault Combat Badge, Basic Anti-tank Combat Badge, Basic Sniper Combat Badge, Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, Basic Medic Combat Badge

They could have implemented a system where you needed a few for each rank increase along the way. Then with this easier system of rank increase it would still have taken more than points to upgrade.
