deciding on joystick

Featured Replies

I think Gator uses the Logitech joystick and has always been happy with it. If you decide on the Logitech one, check your local Target store, I saw them there recently for $28 I believe.

heres the one I use..

however both of the joysticks in your post are very popular i beleive Jables is correct about Gator useing the Logitech one he likes it alot last i knew, however i'm partial to the Saitek ones because you can adjust the handrests and other things to fit your hands, after like 4 hours straight of flying having that handrest there is damn nice.. i'd suggest going to a store that has both of them and putting them in your hands and seeing what you like best.. you'll get great reviews from gamers for both, so I think its more of a personal prefrence..

I tried that Jasun, at Best Buy and they only had 2 joysticks in the whole store so no comparo for me but I went with the Logitech like Gator and Doc have. Good unit.

P.S. how do you fly for 4 hours? I can't even stay in the air for 3 minutes at a time. :peace:

i as well as two of my friends use the saitek. LOVE IT

either way you're getting a good joystick man. honestly go with the one you think looks the best because they are both quality joysticks.

one thing i like about the saitek is the handrest on the joystick itself. nice and comfortable for your hands. plus there are adjustments to the locations and angles of all the buttons / supports.

I don't know I guess I don't get shot down all that much.. When I do play BF2 it's usually for most of the day 6 hours or so at a time.. 4 of that is usually in a plane, I'd rather be in a plane then anything else in the game.. but that goes for other games like Falcon 4.0 and MS Flight Sim 2005.. sometimes I just want to fly all day..

It's the best money i spent in the last 4 months, I do love it however alot of people wouldnt its rather big.. if you don't have a big desk forget it, btw i didnt pay full price for it.. I'll let you all in on it.. http://store.yahoo.com/saitekusa/recprod.html

$70 I couldn't pass it up..

I agree with Jasun.

The Saitek is what you should get. Either the combo unit or the single Joystick.

My kids have the Thrustmaster Top Gun version of the Saitek with Joystick and Throttle combo. It may be big but it rules the sky. The Saitek is more comfortable for hours as well.

my brother uses the saiborg evo, and since we used to be playing on the same computer i once used it for a good year! Its a good joystick, the throttle is in a weird palce for flying in bf2 though, but it works!

I also use the thrustmaster just like macs kids, exxept i have the thrusmaster two, little more money though!

This is what i use: http://froogle.google.com/froogle_cluster?btnG=Search+Froogle&hl=en&oid=6978013842814835603&pid=4805876921713237426&q=top+gun+afterburner+2&scoring=p
