November 11, 200520 yr I just want to personally thank all the veterans and soldiers that served and lost their lives for our freedom and in honour of our country. Because of the vetrans that served and died for our country, I am thankful for them that I am here today and you should be thankful for them too. Before this day ends (EST), I would like for all of us (if you have or have not) to take a moment of silence on behalf of the vetrans, fallen and active soldiers. Here is the poem "in flanders fields" written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae of the Royal Canadian Army: IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. "Lest We Forget" If you have any additional comments regarding this topic, please do not hesitate to reply to this post. Thanks for your time, <TAC> Paramedic /monthly_06_2011/post-1234-130810176898_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-1234-130810177193_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-1234-130810177196_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-1234-130810177198_thumb.jpg /monthly_06_2011/post-1234-130810177202_thumb.jpg

November 12, 200520 yr True Story The other week there i attended the funeral of an elderly gentleman, he died aged 96. Id known him all my life and he attended my christening and other Wells family moments. Anyways, at the end of the service we got a small kind of booklet, just to tell people about the man and what he was really like, well...id known him for 20 years and only then did i find out he was a Gunnery Seargant in WW2 and was awarded all kinds of medals and things. Truly an awsome human being!
November 12, 200520 yr Yes thank you all for our freedom and keeping us safe thank you with all my heart
November 12, 200520 yr It trully nice to hear people still remember. I have lost some friends, and it is nice people still remember what important things the military have done for the world over. If you ever want to see a huge show of gratitude go to holland if you are Canadian. Everyone will want to shake your hand. There is not a country in the world where Canada has not played a possitive role. Alot my clients are vets and it is always my honor to talk with them (one is a German vet, and he is best friends with one of the Canadain vets) I spend alot of time discussing with them my military career and they love to hear how it has changed and how some things have stayed the same. Lest we forget lest we forget I will never nor will I let my kids.
