November 25, 200520 yr People shouldn't be mad about not having the new weapons where others have it. new technology cost money. I used to play Planetside and Sony charged $15 a month to play, EA Games could do the same. Hey the whole point on these MMO's is to make money and bring communities together. Everyone complains about EA if it weren't for them, I would've never met all you great people who I call friends now. So for my part paying $50 for the game, $30 for the expansion and no monthly fees is worth it. And with the new friends I made... well that's priceless.

November 25, 200520 yr Only reason MMO's have a monthly fee is because they need to pay to keep all the servers up....

November 26, 200520 yr That is a good point but for being as giant as EA is, and having all the sattelite offices that they do, they could at least distribute one game with out all the bugs that Battlefield 2 has. And I do know it is nearly impossible to have a completly bug-free program but at least work out the crucial bugs and not the ones that were fixed in the 1.03 "patch." All that did was fix a lot of graphical glitches and other useless stuff. I would be more than willing to put up with graphical animation or collision glitches if they fixed the core gameplay like the AA, C4, or TOW missles not firing.

November 26, 200520 yr GEE, impact i never thought about it that way GOLLY GEE:D very nice way of putting it,for real. but all that being said DOWN WITH EA,
November 26, 200520 yr but we have to look at the bigger picture. yes EA has a lot of offices. but they also manage and distribute an enormous quantity of different games. they are very well known for their sports games and such. also every seems to be getting mad at EA. and yes EA did release this game with quite a few bugs. but you have to realise that they subcontracted the production of bf2 out to Dice. and gave them a deadline. it is Dice who did not produce a fully operational bit of software. blaming it solely on EA i cant see being feesable. I know many of you from playing cs and css. can you not admit that cs had / has a lot of bugs as well? i think of it this way. how many hours of enjoyment do i get out of this product. then i compare it too how many hours of frustration i get. personally i get probably 8:1 good to bad ratio. and IMO that is totally worth the money. let alone the people you meet along the way. One can truly not judge people / companies that release products unless they have had experience in doing the same. think about it. be calm and things will come together. bf2 has amazing potential. and given time and support (and less b_____ing) it will all get sorted out. -end rant PS hope u understood all of that.

November 26, 200520 yr Like tonight, it was terrible. I guess everyone was playing SpecOps version and not BF2 or else I could blame Thanksgiving weekend. So, there was nobody in the server and a few guys had Specops weapons and that just irked me because it is like a slap in the face to those that did not buy it. I can afford it now, I can go buy 10 of them if I want but I am not going to because I totally disagree with the approach to this expansion. The weapons, I think, are not a great deal better than normal weps so I wasn't getting owned or anything but it split up the community once again. Do I have to buy Spec Ops to play with my friends or wait until they get tired of it and come back to BF2? I don't even care about the bugs anymore. I live with them. If you kill a teammate that show up red, so what. If you kill a teammate that shows up blue they punish you anyway so what's the diff? LOL unless you know them. I can't shoot down a plane or helo with the mounted anit air to save my life so if they fix it I still won't be able to. I just run around and have a good time and if I kill some dudes that's cool if I don't I know it's not me and it's EA's crappy setup that is to blame. On a side note, I am happy for you that you found this community because of EA and that is great because you have joined up with a great bunch of gamers and friends here. To add to this, I was having a good time trying to get all the badges and ribbons but now there are a million more ribbons and badges to get and I didn't want to make this my life's work so I give up. I might try to finish the BF2 badges at least but come on really do we need more to go for. At least, not yet. Give it some time EA before you pile more crap on us at least let us sort through the last heap. At least FA had people that cared for the game and not money.
November 26, 200520 yr SF is great for us ground pounders who hate having to keep looking up for those helo's and planes.

Dont worry, I dont have it either, we can play normal BF2 and sneak onto the enemys ship and all that fun stuff.
November 26, 200520 yr I would share my thoughts on EA, but after Motor City Online, I've just accepted 2 FACTS: 1. I AM going to buy most of the games they release, I am a gamer and thats what I do. They seem to have a certain skill for releasing games I will play: like BF2. (I will NOT admit to anyone that I have the Sims, every expansion pack, The Sims 2 and both of those expansions as well cause I bought them for the wife, who never played them, therefore I had to play them.) 2. I will ALWAYS be disappointed in the hype for the game vs the finished product. As far as the expansion pack goes. I wish it wouldnt have been an expansion at all. What would be so wrong with installing Sf on top of BF2? I'd like ot have ziplines and grappling hooks on all maps. I'd like to have teargas on all maps, if people dont spend the $30 on the extra's then they need to try hard to aviod teargas and flashbangs, as well as night fights as they wont have any NVG's either... Would have just been better business to release SF as a patch, for free, then to charge $30 for it and then let it bleed into the regular game..
November 26, 200520 yr Now, I see a future problem with these night maps. Eventually servers will get tired of the same old maps and start adding these and then we original BF2 players won't be able to play or will be in the dark. Good thing (=A=) has two servers going but then that divides everyone once again and the BF2 server is near empty.
November 26, 200520 yr I just recently attempted to install the v1.12 patch it tells me my C drive requires 3gigs to install No patch, in the history of any game I've ever played, has required anything near that much. Please EA, * off.
