Yeah, I've always thought that'd be cool. I remember they tried to do something similar to this project but for the Russian Front, didn't work out apprently.

i love that game. It's coming out on steam sometime in the next year
I tried thet mod Defcon and I hope we are talking about the same one b/c to me it really blew. My kids even uninstalled it.
It's really a totally different play-style than other mods. It's basically super-realistic. So it can be annoying at first
