I messed up

Today I set the resolution for BF2 at something like 1200x1024 but then my screen turned black and said: "Out Of Range" So I hit alt+f4 and started Bf2 again but the error message still was there. Anyone know how to change bf2's resolution without opening it? :)
Well you first need to find your BF2 profile, default is in MyDocuments\battlefield 2\profiles\0001, hopefully you only have one profile created, if not then find the appropriate one then open the video.con file with notepad, there you should see where the resolution is set, its four lines up from the bottom. Set it to 800x600@60Hz this would essentially be a sort of "safe mode" for bf2, save and you should be able to see BF2 again. Hope this helps.
LOL!!! I had to do that with Unreal 2. I set it to some really high resolution when I had my tv as my monitor. oops!!!
