i went deaf in my left ear while i was sleeping last night! time for a trip to the doctor!

You can now buy the cheap one sided headphones. Look on the brightside.

It is probably temporary. Good luck.

well, i can hear again! damn those doctors and their crazy 9 inch long stainless syringes! turns out it was a giant peice of ear wax that decided to attach itself to my ear drum. 5 minutes in the doctors office and 2 ear flushes later i walked out like the idiot i am :)

Happened to me a few years ago, so you're not alone. :)
1 time when on vacation(up north WI)after swimming underwater my ears got all clogged up just the same and couldn't hear almost at all out either of my ears.had to be like that for the rest of the weekand,'till we came back home and could have a DR. do the same thing they did to you. sucked :)

did you sleep on your left ear ? long ago i had trouble getting to sleep so put on tight sealing pair of ear loud-noise-protection ear cups. next day i had plugged ears and ringing that turned out to be ear infection and resulting wax buildup. i learned from that the ears need to breath fresh dry air to ward off infections.

man, next time im just gonna go to the store and buy the biggest super soaker i can find and tell my roommate to shoot me in the ear. itll probably cost less than a doc visit and ill get a cool water gun outta it!
I remember about 6 or 7 years ago I could hear out of either ear now that was scary, and what was worse it happened around my exam times and I had no idea what the teacher was saying before the exam so I had to figure out my trying to read his lips it wasn't easy. And the weird part a year later the samething in the same month at the sametime again and even the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong. Nothing was blocking them they just shut down or something. :)
