Frame drop

Featured Replies

I'm gettign framedrops all the time with my new card... I even get them when I lower my settings to what I had with my previous graphics card!!!

Did I install the wrong driver? Could you give me a link to the right one?

Did I do something else wrong?!

I made the post in the BF2 section for a reason..
lol sorry didnt notcice......much of the time when a framedrop occurs(that i've noticed)is due to a much larger need for physical memory, i used to get it quite frequently but sice i installed another gb of ram i have had not drop art all on any settings

Well you got a 256mb card. If the memory is slower on that card as thye usually make it. Most 6600GT's had 128 of fast memory. 256of slow memory will slow it down.

Turn all lighting to low or off. Run at 1024x768. Medium all settings. Run your sound at software low.

They try it. Use new drivers too.

Increase ingame settings a few at a time. After you find the one that is causing the problem. Then put the sound back where you had it.

just finished week long probs with new 6600 install in tigerhawks pc. turned out the utility softwre "smart doctor" by default unknown to me did not have "warnings" enabled in settings. it had been saying everything with card was okay. until much later i checked settings and enabled them. it then said voltage to agp slot was 1.5 instead of preferred 3.3v.

check this. research at faq forums have manufacturer saying 300w psu okay but posters say probs fixed with 350-400w psu.

It is the Mobo. Not the powersupply.

Your Mobo is technically out of date for that card. It will work but not at full power.

AGP slots of that error used a differetn power reqirement compared to today.

I would assume that this could be the isue with the 9600XT and the other Board. Just a little older and conflitcing stuff.
