I have not heard much about this, but my brother told me about it the other day. Sounds fun!

"England's Ministry of Defence has purportedly developed an electric 'force field' that vaporizes grenades and rockets on impact," writes iarnuocon. "The armor consists of two shells, a grounded outer shell and highly charged inner shell. When an RPG-7 anti-tank grenade pentrates the outer shell, the resultant electrical arc vaporizes the warhead. In tests an armoured personnel carrier survived repeated rocket attacks from grenades that would normally have destroyed it. The electric armor could make tanks and other military vehicles lighter and more maneuverable."

I think my brother saw it on the news or something, but he said that Israel developed it and not England so I donno which article is right and I dont even know if the above quote is talking about the same thing either (though it seems like it is)

But yeah it is a "force field" for tanks and helicopters. Pretty much just detonates rockets when they enter the field area. Neato. Someone let me know if you can find anything else on this!

Now they will develope non-metal projectiles or insulated projectiles so the electrical field will not be disturbed.
Nothing beats INCHS of armour.

except your own supply lines. armor is heavy. more armor means more weight, more weight means bigger engines, bigger engines means lower mpg. abrams already gets like .25 mpg :D

Problem #1: EMP from electric arc vs. electronic circuts.

Problem #2: Directivity of 'vaporization' of the said round. Vaporize... sure, but twhat about the energy released. That thing packs one hell of a punch.

Problem #3 (technical): charging and re-charging.

^^^thats why I want to know more about it because I am sure they have considered those factors.
