April 13, 200620 yr I was skimming through ea forums and came across this, I thought it was interesting to read. -------------- Here is a copy of the letter from CEA clan and their 2 members who now have the #1 and #2 scores at 16 million points and 6 million points. This translation was done by ExecutionerStyle at bf2s.com forums from the CEA clan website in Spain. I say good job CEA! EA screwed with the game and made retarded gameplay changes in the patches instead of fixing bugs. The gameplay changes made the game slow and introduced more garbage. I love BF2 and hate the way EA has screwed up the game with the game play changes in patch 1.2+ as opposed to fixing the bugs. Until they: fix the prone lag crud and the effect it has on medic paddles, etc. fix the jump and shoot so it works again fix the useless nade hurling as opposed to 1.12 nades fix tossing medic and ammo packs so they are useful again fix tossing c4 so it can be tossed on tanks but not as infantry sandwiches fix noob tubes so they don't feel laggy. Never bothered me if a guy suicided me. Big deal. FIX THE RED TAG BUG BF2 is awesome and they ruin it every patch. The gameplay changes ****. ***************** ******** HERE IS THE LETTER FROM CEA THANKS TO EXECUTIONER_STYLE: Please, do not annoy us for what we have done. We are the type of people who think that in-game, rankings are meaningless. With this, we have precisely demonstrated what we mean. I don't really understand why you are annoyed with us. We're from the same 'band' (group of people I'm guessing). If you really think we did it for our benefit, why would we put Sinkope at 16 million points when the others are below 400,000? If we did want to do this for our benefit, we would have been much more subtle, such as not making such a huge points difference. Once again, we are all in the same boat. With this we have demonstrated that rankings are not worth or mean ****. We love this game, but EA 'touches our balls' (literal translation, they're tying to say that EA pisses them off) a lot with their ****** expansions we have to pay for. Personally, we think they're a bunch of crooks, with an intent to charge for everything (Euro Force was a joke, we can't believe they charged for it). That's why we decided that we wanted to show them that they do things wrong. Please, do not hate CEA for this. We don't find ourselves higher than others. We're a new clan and we know we've started off with a bad reputation. I also want to clarify that we have not used any cheat or hack. We haven't modified the game files or used an external application. We simply found a bug in the game, and have exploited it to show to mock EA. Finally, we ask for forgiveness from those who we've confused or annoyed tonight. Please, don't hate us, we were simply dicking around with what we discovered and we really do want fair gameplay in our server. Please accept our apologies, you are all welcome to our server. Thank you. PS: EA: We don't give two shits if you reset our stats. As long as these bugs aren't fixed, we'll keep making new accounts and giving ourselves massive scores. We at CEA believe you have brought this unto yourselves for trying to milk money out of the consumer, when the original product has major bugs like what we found. We hope that with all the money you make, we'll one day get a free expansion (probably mean content). CROOKS! -------------------
April 13, 200620 yr Author CEA is the spanish clan who figured out the exploit to 'adjust' their high scores. This was the letter after their stats have been reset.
April 13, 200620 yr Yea, they were the ones using that glitch to get very, very high global scores. Saying it doesnt matter how many times they get their scores reset because they can get back up there just as fast.
April 13, 200620 yr not that I support what CEA has done or is doing but a certain part of me supports them firing this stuff back at EA. They have a valid point that EA is trying to get more $$$ out of people for little to nothing when the game has serious glitches that should be fixed instead of moving forward with expansion packs and trying to suck more money out of the consumer. I mean, the game started off at $50 and if you buy all the expansions you end up paying almost double that!!!! what ever happened to customer service?
April 13, 200620 yr Bravo for these guys. Now, if we could only find an exploit to bring the gas prices down. Those guys are the real "CROOKS!"
April 13, 200620 yr Bravo for these guys. Now, if we could only find an exploit to bring the gas prices down. Those guys are the real "CROOKS!" WORD!!!
April 13, 200620 yr Heh, I like how part of it's edited and the rest isn't... but while they shouldn't be exploiting, they make too many good points to be ignored, which is precicely what EA is going to do. They're in buisness to make money, not make people happy. As long as they have the Battlefield name, people are going to buy it. I agree though. How about maybe fixing BF2 instead of making BF2142?
April 13, 200620 yr I already posted this! lol Also, they made this letter before their stats were reset. Like some of the rest of the people said. They knew what they were doing before they even did the exploit. They just wanted to make the point to EA and the rest of the community. Having their stats reset was something they knew eventually would happen and they most likely didn't really care. here it is
April 13, 200620 yr I would agree with all these people if they werent such whiny jerks about it. Im as pissed about the bugs as the next guy, but if you read the list of "fixes" that guy wants you will notice he just wants his insta-prone fire, bunnyhopping, n00b nading back. Those "fixes" were teh things that almost ruined the game for me in the first place. Also, why cant gamers ever express their opinions in responsible, productive ways, such as maybe organizing a petition or letter writing campaign instead of just exploiting to prove some sort of non-existant point? These guys are misguided, immature punks. Oh, and EuroForce was worth 10 bucks. For goodness sakes you got an entire extra army.
