When did they change venerable ole' Gulf of Oman into a super armor whore fest??? I was playing today and there were so many armored vehicles, being infantry was almost pointless. I counted something like 2 tanks and 4 APCs all on one side (MEC) whoring up just one flag!! Have there always been that many vehicles? I remember Oman being very infantry friendly. The map I played was a death trap for anyone who wasnt an uber l337 tank/chopper/jet pilot. Im serious, it was crazy!

Yea, its mostly been a big tank/apc/bomber map. Its hard to be infantry on that map and stay out in the open

The big reason I hate Oman is because if you go infantry you are DEAD. There is a tank and APC at MEC base and a tank and maybe 2 APC's at hotel and an APC at the river on the far N/W also. Also, an APC at rock and river near the ocean. Too damn many.

3 APC's, 2 tanks, 1 Fighter, 1 Bomber, and that is just MEC side. The US has no armor until they capture hotel or north beach. But yeah, it is a total armorfest, and it always will be.

*EDIT* Forgot the Attack Chopper, Mi-28, which is anti-infantry in it's design.

Negative. On that map I am usually anti-tank. Deli and I will eat the tanks alive with them. There is really no other way to go on that map. Usually it becomes a huge veichle fest when one team has most of the main cap points that give apcs/tanks. So those are the ones you want to learn and concentrate on.
