Ironic that this time it's 6/6/06. Beginning of the end, for WW2. Normandy Beach landing attack. Canada = Juno beach. U.S. = Omaha beach. Britain = Sword beach. They were told expect 20,000 of 100,000 losses which ended up around 7,000. Gliders at night secured 6 bridges to beachead. Paratroopers reinforced bridge holders within 14 hrs. Beachead taken and advanced to bridges in about 48 hrs.

 

The game Hedal of Honor: Spearhead puts you in this scenario. The beach assault is very hard. Try it for tsate of what it was like. It is very well done and very hard.
