My best friend and i were talking the other day. She said it was a good thing i wasn't married. I asked her why, and she said because your married to your job! You know she is right. I just looked at her and then thought about it for a minute. Kind of a shell shocked look i guess. :) I work 1 full time job, 1 part time job , in the summer i work overtime at the baseball park and at the city pool, and i am now going for another part time job at another police dept. Relationships, who has time for them? I do have 1 whole week where i am not working anywhere so i can rest and relax. then i can just work, work, work, all my other jobs until winter starts. :D

You need to sit back and relax for a while. You know, grab some lemonade, read a good book, watch youre favorite movie, Kill Impact... you know relaxing stuff :)

Oh, i average reading a whole book every say 2 days, unless it's really good, then it's done in one. lol Hey that's a thought! Kill Impact, yeah i like that one. Only problem is i can't fly, so he is safe. :D But, i can drive a tank, and i'm getting better everyday! :) Bring it on Impact. :)
Geez you have it all backwards you work hard during the winter so you can relax in the summer it gets too dang hot!!!!!!
Dont take people for granted, before you know it, you will be older, sad, and alone. This isn't supposed to be insulting, just a plee that you don't end up as I will. The human capacity to love is a beautiful thing and it is the most terrible thing in the world to see it go to waste : (

The life of a cop

Did you mention to your friend the divorce rate of cops? On the flip side I think that has a lot to do with finding the right person. I am on my first and have been for 6 years now. I guess the key is finding someone that understands the job and is ok with it.

We can't live without women, but on the other hand, they are the greatest challenge on earth for a man. Its not easy to make a good job every day.

Yes Wolfey your friend is right, it's good not to be married there is too much "stuff" to deal with. By not being married you have more "freedom" :D

I'm for one is not going to get married it's not for me. I don't mind have relationships but I just don't think marriage is for me or having kids for that matter. But of course many people have said to me "you'll change your mind when you find the right guy and get older and want to have a family." I know for sure that's not the life for me.

You know it's easier for a guy when he's a cop to find someone than for a woman. I meet someone, they ask what i do and boom they are running fast out the door. I've begun to think it's an ego thing. Men just don't like the fact that your a cop. I was engaged to be married once and was just getting into law enforcement. My fiance' said to me, once we get married you aren't going to become a cop. Well, to make long story short, i'm still single. :D

Marriage to a job is good. After you quit they can't come after you for any money. LOL.

You know that is so true. I don't believe just because you are married and then divorced that the EX gets part of your pension. It just isn't right. Now i do believe that you pay for any children you have in common.

Yes, it's nice to not have to answer to anyone. But, thank god for friends, cuz it would be lonely without them.

That's right why should they get any of it when you're the one who was working hard for it and not them. :D

You know that is true...I just tend to forget about it. As a guy they are falling at your feet. It is a hard life... :D

I had a friend that (female) that was HOT but she was a trooper. Thinking back on things she had trouble keeping a date after she and her husband divorced. BTW the guy she divorced was a trooper also wonder what the odds of that not working out were? Maybe 75-80% range?

She made a lot of cases and he felt like he was not making as many cases. I know that sounds crazy but it caused a lot of problems between them.

I would suggest finding another cop but you may want to make sure they are more laid back. Females have a hard time in our jobs at work and home. Not to because they are not able to do the job but rather the way others have always viewed it as job for men I guess. I salute you for sticking with it even though it can make the social life suck.

I still got you beat State with 10 and 3/4 yrs. "I guess the key is finding someone that understands the job and is ok with it." I totaly believe this. Being married to a cop is not easy. We have to remember we see the worst of the worst that people have to offer. It's also hard for us to express how we fell after the things we see form day to day.

if you are happy, not lonley, keeping busy, you need no more. you get relationships from your jobs and volunteer work. the interaction and satisfaction from interacting/helping in these likely give you more then you would get from working on the same with one person. ;) They don't argue as much with you i bet. :) I think you're doing admirably well with all those ventures that help others and keep you busy. As well as the satisfaction you get trying to be helpful. 2 thumbs up. :) Something i think retires need to do, keep busy at somethng they enjoy, especially if helping others. ;)
